This idea is reasonable..I just don't think we will see it really happen until 2020 or somewhere around then. It would take something very well engineered to move a 6000 lb Sequoia on just battery alone and I can't see anything that is made for a Prius etc really working in a Sequioa. Also cost would be very big factor.

But for small cars. It works.

Getting 20 MPG highway with 5 people, driving not so flat roads at 70-75. Mix 15.5 to 17 MPG. Using 89 octane mostly. I am not sure if 5K + for hybrid model will be worth if you do the math.
