Default 08' Sequoia showing up in rental fleets

Saw one today at National IND airport location. Thought about it but couldn't pass up the Infiniti M35. Seems pretty quick for a new model but considering how they are selling in some regions, not suprising.

Wow, I have seen ONE 2008 on the road in my town. Could have bought one but like the Gen I style a lot better. Perhaps they are not selling at dealers so they are dumping them in the rental fleet market.

FWIW, Toyota Truck Division sales were down -15.7% in April vs April '07. The Sequoia was up +24% vs last April and up +16.7% YTD vs same period last year. Total Sequoia units sold in 2008 through April is 10,525. This volume is definitely below Toyota's forecast (60,000 target for 2008) which explains the production cutback but its still a bright spot in an otherwise dreary market for large SUVs and Trucks.

Just a quick update. Returned my rental back to National yesterday and saw several 08' Sequoia's available for rent. They were the "Limited" trim level. Would have expected SR5s.

So if anyone would like to spend some time in a Limited Sequoia before purchasing, head to National Rent a Car.
