Powersteering - 2008 Toyota Sequoia | JDPower.com
MY FAV PART
As enamored as I am with the new Sequoia, it’s not perfect. In addition to its prodigious thirst for fuel, the right-most stereo controls are seemingly located in a different state, the running boards are a bit narrow for my size-12 Timberlands, there isn’t as much cargo space behind the third-row seat as you’ll find in a
Suburban or Expedition EL, and when the Sequoia’s tailgate was raised I banged my head on it, a head which rides at the lofty elevation of six feet above ground level. Finally, and not least important, the Toyota commands a stiff price premium. Using Toyota.com and my local Southern California zip code, our pre-production test truck should have carried a sticker close to $55,000. For these reasons, and the fact that I still like the Ford’s styling more than the Toyota’s, plus the Ford’s better warranty and roadside assistance coverage, and the Ford’s more affordable price tag, I’d strongly consider the Expedition EL over the Toyota Sequoia. One thing’s for sure, though: for me, the choice isn’t nearly as clear-cut as it was last year. –

*Speak softly and carry a big stick. Large Sequoia. Big trees drop big sticks. Get it?
