Default Anyone recognize this part?

So my wife was pulling in the driveway the other day and heard a noise. She got out and found this part on the street! Now I'm not 100% sure that it's from my truck, but ever since it's been making a noise when she hits a bump at an angle. I've looked around underneath and didn't see anything, but thought I'd see if anyone recognized the part?

Thanks!
Mike

From the rubber side, it almost looks like a bump stop, but from the threaded side, I'm not so sure.

It looks like the the bump stop from the lower control arm, you should two on each side.

Looks like a shock absorber bushing. You might want to go under your truck and check your shock absorber mountings if it's rusted out or missing.

Mystery solved! It was the left sway bar link!

I called the dealer, they wanted $100 for the link alone! Then $13 for each bushing, and a couple more bucks for the nuts! Called Checker and got the whole kit for $50, for BOTH sides! Even if it doesn't last as long, I can buy another one for the same price as just buying the link!

Now I just have to wait for it to come in... Anybody know torque specs on the two nuts on the link?

Thanks!
Mike

Update: That was the wrong part from Checker... And they can't seem to find the right one... Napa doesn't even list a part for it... Autozone gave me a part # that I did a search for and by the picture I found, it looks right, so I'll go order that tomorrow...

Also, there is a allen head on the end of the bolt so the ball joint doesn't spin when you're trying to take the nut off!!! Yep, I found that out AFTER I got it off the hard way!!!

So, hopefully Wednesday night I'll finally be wrapping this up!!!!

Still looking for torque specs if anyone has any thoughts on that?!?!?

Is it from the front or rear stabilizer? It kind of looks like a cab mount to me. Let me know and I will try and get you the torques.

It's from the front drivers side sway bar link. I'm having a really hard time getting the right part! Both Checker and Autozone ordered the part according to their computers, and they both got the same wrong part! Napa doesn't even have a replacement for it in their system!!!! Looks like I will be going back to the dealer! Argh!

Final resolution, finally!

Autozone reordered the part and it came in right this time. Both boxes had the same part # (Duralast SL10480), but they were significantly different parts in the boxes! Unfortunately, the correct one did not come with any bushings or the top nut! So I had to go to the hardware store and get a new nut, and then I just reused the old bushings on from the broken link!

Once I had all the pieces it was about a 10 minute job to get the tools out, install the link and put everything away!!!! How can getting the right part be this hard?

Mike
