SequoiaGeneral discussion forum for the second generation 2008 and later Toyota Sequoia.
This is a discussion thread titled "2008 SR-5 Fuel Range Gauge.... ?", within the Sequoia forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
According to the brochure, every Sequoia made has average fuel mpg, and range. However, I sure can't figure out how to change my display from the outside temp. The manual shows a button next to the vent, but I don't have any of those four buttons. Is the Sequoia brochure wrong? Because it clearly states this is a standard feature on every model of Sequoia. Am I missing something super obvious?

According to the website, that is available on an SR-5 only as part of a package, not just standard.
Yeah, I saw that discrepancy. I noticed online it said something about its a package with the compass, and I have the compass, just not the other. So I don't know.

Do you have the Homelink option? It looks like the mpg, etc. part is tied in with the Homelink choice.

Yes I do. Its up in the mirror with the compass. But I think the gas part shows up on the dash where the outside temp is, next to the clock.
Gas mileage and range are displayed in the same window as the odometer and trip in the instrument cluster. It is accessed with the top of the four buttons near the vent to the right of the instruments. The button is labeled "INFO".

No kidding....He thought the "gas part" shows up near the clock. I was clarifying that it did not, and where it actually shows up. Then I was explaining how the feature is activated, using the button he does not have. So I thought he might conclude that he probably does not have the feature, and the manual is correct and the brochure is wrong. What exactly did your above post add to the discussion?
What exactly did your above post add to the discussion?
Since we already discussed the fact that he didn't have the buttons you refer to and that the feature looks like it was part of a package he doesn't have, what exactly did you add??

In a word, NOTHING.
I'm gonna try and clear up my perspective.

So it seems the "part" is not tied to the package you thought since he has the Homelink but apparently does not have the "mpg, ect. part"
The last part of his final post:
"But I think the gas part shows up on the dash where the outside temp is, next to the clock."
I let him know it does not. Then I proceeded to explain where it actually is displayed and how he would access the feature, if he had it. I thought I was clarifying some things for him and giving him a definitive answer to his question.
I certainly apologize for wasting anyones time with my post.
Mine is accessed with the info button and shows up next to the clock, along with the exterior temperature, and range. Maybe it shows up in different spots for different packages? Nobody knew what package it was in when i was purchasing mine, I just made sure it was in the one i bought.
I have a Limited and the dash has exterior temp, sonar, and clock. Maybe I can figure out some way to display the stuff up top instead of having to cycle through it in the odometer area.
From what I can tell. On a SR-5 it does show up where the clock and outside temp display is. On a Lim and Plat, its has a different more complex odometer, and on those, it shows up on that display.
I guess, from all my research if you don't have the info button, then I don't have that. Toyota just really blows my mind. This car was 44k, and some things it does not have, just shock me, that being one. So even though the sales brochure says its standard on every SR-5, it must indeed be wrong and incorrect. My car also has manual seats, which seems strange, though I know power driver seats are an option. Today the subwoofer started cutting in and out, on the JBL stereo system. I have noticed at night that some of the dash lights dim and others do not. I have to admit, 5 days in, I am not blow away. I realize Toyota didn't want to raise the price much, but they sure seem to cut some corners on this truck.
