This is a discussion thread titled "07 Sequoia Wheel Vibration", within the Sequoia forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
I have a 07 Sequoia that rode like a sedan ( very smooth) and then I gently hit a curb in the parking lot with it and then noticed a vibration. I take it to the Toyota Dealer and they do a alignment and wheel balance. They tell me that everything is aligned and wheels are balanced and not bent but I'm still feeling a vibration after 2 visits to the dealer. I've taken the rim off that struck the curb and replaced it with the spare and I'm still having the vibration problem. Dealer is telling me that it may be a tire issue but the tires where riding fine when I struck the curb ( 50 miles ago) I'm taking it in for the 3rd visit to the dealer Sat. Any ideas?
Could be that the factory does road force balance. When you took it to the dealer, they may have NOT done Road Force balance. They may have done old style spin balance and now another tire may be out of balance.
Bottom line: Road Force balance ONLY!

Could be that the impact has damaged the tire belt causing a slight separation. Rotate the tire to the back or front depending on where it currently is and see if the vibration moves as well. Unless you are saying you replaced both the wheel and the tire with the spare. Then I would suspect a suspension/steering issue despite what the dealer says.
Yes, I replaced the wheel and tire so any rim / tire problem from slightly hitting the curb, is out of the equation. I believe my problem is with the alignment and balance from the dealer . I'm taking it today and having them roadforce the tires/wheeels and check alignment and well see?
ask for printout of all work for your records, if ya do alignment or road force balance get it on paper! highly suspect you knocked alignment out and would get this done after road force checks good. i would also put original tire back on to make sure you did not mess up the tire or the rim, road force will measure both to see if either is bad! curbs tear stuff up and why have a spare that is no good? i hit a few curbs and once i bent my sturt at the top and it was like 1/2" outta being straight, hard to find unless you have a smart tech! possibly you could have bent strut rod like me? oh yea my wife had hit a couple also she just wasted a couple rims and tires and get this we both do not drink and live in ABQ
most vibrations are tire related!
For some reason, Japanese vehicle such as Toyota, the suspension components seems much weaker than the European. It might be a bent control arm. I had the same problem on my new Sentra awhile back.
My 08 Camry had a steering wheel shimmy. The dealer rebalanced my tires with 2 different tire shops. The shimmy was better but not gone. Took it back to the dealer and they took a set of band new wheels and tires off a new Camry and swapped mine to see if it was a tire issue. My set and the set they put on were Bridgstone. The shimmy was worse than my set with 5000 miles on them. The dealer decided that my car was to get new hubs put on. Before I had that done I made the dealer try a set of Michilans and guess what. The shimmy was gone. I am not saying that the Bridgstones are junk but I know of two bad sets. So yes the tires can be bad from the factory.
Any manufacturer can make a bad tire, i just got a Michelin not to long ago that would not road force balance and it vibrated bad! they had no issue with replacing it once i showed them the road force measurement for that tire.changed to new tire and it balanced within limits which are near 25 Lbs MAX! I saw an 08 Limited Black Sequoia yesterday and that thing looked nice!!
