no,
look under the truck & you will see a pair of bolts every 1 1/2 feet or so. These are removed & bracket put in place & bolt reinstalled.

apox time 1-2 hrs

Thanks for the reply.

I bought a set of aftermarket running boards from ebay and the guy sent me brackets for the Tundra. But the last pair of holes on the Sequioa are in different location and I can't align the running boards with the supplied Tundra bracket.

The guy claim all I need to do is drill a new hole using self-tapping screw and said all the Sequioa boards are like this.

I thought that was bullsh*t.

Many years ago, I installed Toyota factory running boards on my '00 Tundra. Installing one bracket on each side involved drilling holes and using self-tapping screws. They've been fine.

I have my dealership searching for some running boards for my new Sequoia.
They are telling me they can't get pricing information on them because they are all sold as part of a package.

If you folks acquired factory running boards, how did you get them? I'm content to let my dealership put them on but they are having problems finding some that are not sold as part of a kit. Maybe I can find them and give them to the dealership to put on.

Mine came as a kit, meaning two running boards with mounting hardware. I ordered it from a Toyota dealer, Bob Howard Toyota of Edmond, OK.

Thank you. I will be contacting your Toyota dealer to see what he can do to help. This is excellent news.

I just bought used factory step bars for my 00 tundra access cab. My buddy that I purchased off of told me that the front parts of the step bars were bolted on. I drilled holes and ran lag bolts up threw and low and behold I took my first step and they collapsed. I thought man I must be one fat guy 190lbs. Well anyways, I took them to my local mechanic and he welded them on in the front for $40. check out my photo album if you need to see pictures.

I just purchased an 08 Platinum. Dumping the running boards for custom sliders from my fabricator. Platinum will see duties as Baja chase vehicle. Let me know if you want mine. They are from an Arctic white. Also getting rid of the 20" tires and wheels with 100 miles of them.
