Default cold kit questions

hey guys, when i bought my 08 sequoia i forgot to ask something and was hoping you guys could help. my sequoia has the cold kit and wanted to know if i had ice on my side rear view mirrors and i pushed the defrost button would the ice come off? the mirrors have a small heat sign on them. another thing is it has windshield wiper deicer, does that mean that the windshield wipers get hot and melt the ice on the windshield??? i live in bakersfield,CA and it only gets cold here like 3 months out of the year but i always have frost on my windshied and rear view mirrors when i get off from work (i work at night) and its a pain to take off the ice especially if im in a hurry to get home. it sometimes gets down to the mid 20s (above zero) and my cars look like giant blocks of ice.

Thank you.

I laughed all the way through reading your post. I don't have an answer for you, just wanted to thank you.
Mid 20's is the average wintertime high where I live, so, "I feel your pain".

Yes the defrost button will turn the mirrors on as well as the wiper grid that is at the bottom of the windshield...it heats the glass to unstick the wipers...hope that helps ya out.

RUB IT IN!
I've been getting things ready for winter around here. Can't leave anything out that I don't want burried in snow for the next 5-6 months. At the same time I get to take the skis & sleds out and get them ready to go.
BTW, I was born in Fresno.
