Is there any software/chip out there that improves the mpg? Anyone w/ the CAI notice any improved mpg?
I installed a Volant CAI and I had to reset the computer. The MPG's climb as the truck is driven. I've put about 400 miles on it and it's at 15.0. I was at 15.4. I'll follow up once I get more highway miles on.
My 2001 sequoia with 101,000 now reads 17.6 on the AMPG display above the mirror.
It started out in high 18s but has fairly slowly, but steadily decreased over thee 100k miles. I do need to buy a new clean air filter though.
I have about 740 miles.
mixed driving 70% in the burbs, 30% on the freeway.
so far my 4x4 limited has averaged about 15.2 MPG.
I plan to change the oil to synthetic and put 1-2 more psi in the big 20" wheels. I noticed that on the freeway it does get about 18.1 mpg.
Overall the Honda pilot gets about 19-20 MPG mixed, so for a loss of 5 mpg, it more than makes up for it!
I've got about 15k on 08 2wd. Computer says 15.3. Mostly burb driving and one trip to maine (1100 miles, 21hrs straight w/ wife and 2 kids) Still seemed to get 15 or so on the highway. May try a tank of premium to see if it gets better, but 18-19? I't would be great if I could get it there.
Almost 15,000 and I can get 20, plus or minus, in trips to Dallas of 400 miles, also to Amarillo, 260 miles, as long as the wind isn't too bad. I did some trailering and it got 10-12, with a pretty heavy trailer. Around town, I'm not sure, but I would guess 11-13. I calculate the mpg on fillups and trip meter miles, and they are usually withing 1 mpg of the computer. I reset the computer when I'm on a highway trip, usually every time I fill up, and then leave it to average out with the town driving my wife does. I don't have any complaints at all about the mileage. I was driving an '03 Dodge Caravan a few years back, with the small v-6, standard size van and it would get 20-22 highway and about 12 city. That's the only close comparison I can make between the two vehicles. I really like the Sequoia!!
