Default Need help with finding tire chains 08 SR5

Hey guys....last minute trip and need to carry either chains or cables to go up to Hume Lake, California (right past the Sequoia Nat. Forest!)

anyhow chains or cables? best place to find the right ones? What if I can't find my size exactly? can it be close if numbers are close?

I bought these for our 4runner (with up-sized tires) and they happen to fit the Sequoia too.

Amazon.com: Security Chain Super Z6, SZ451, Cable Chain for Pickups & SUVs: Automotive

Never had to actually use them, let me know if you need something in a pinch. I'm also in Irvine.

You'll need a different size for the 20 inch wheels. Only got 1 pair since these were for our 4runner and the manual says no traction devices on the front tires. I haven't checked if limited clearance is an issue on the Sequoia and if not, actual chains would probably perform better especially if you're in a situation where you'd want to chain up all 4 wheels. I have these mainly for chain control stations when we go play in the local mountains.

I got mine at autozone in riverside. I got the cables ones instead of the chains. They're about 160. for the pair.

Thanks for the replies....and mswscco, thanks for offering up your set (so generous of you, but would never take up your offer!)

I went to Pep Boys in Lake Forest and found some cables for that size. $100 for the pair.

I went up north last Saturday and when I got to the entrance of the Sequoia National Forest, the trooper just released the chains requirement - woohoo! The vehicle did very well and felt very stable on the icy roads leading up to Hume Lake. I had to take a different car down ('05 Passat) and was wishing I had my Sequoia with me! oh well the rest of my family will be safe coming down the hill this weekend!
