Question Tpms ?........

I am about to replace my 18in.stock wheel to the TRD 22in.when the tire guy said if i have the new TPMS and i said NO,just use the same one i have in the stock?.....My question is does the 2008 toyota sequoia use 20 or 40 degree sensor?...TRD 22in.required 20 degree sensor and i can not find any info about 08 sequoia TPMS?....any help would be appreciated...A new set of TPMS is not cheap $300.00

There 40 and yes you need 20. Discount tire sells an adapter don't know how much or the 20 for $60.00 each. There is a guy on ebay that sells the 20 TPMS cheaper than you can get them any where. Or you can buy a Black magic Marker for the light...lol.. Hope this helps. Take some Pics when there on..

Do all Sequoia have this TPMS? I have a 08 Sequoia SR5 with the factory 18 aswell and I want to eventually move up to 20". Does that mean I have to buy new sensors and where is the light located at anyway? Im a noobie and advise will surely be appreciated

Yes,all vehicle have TPMS.According to this site the 08"Sequoia uses two sensor 20 and 40 degrees

I still do not know what sensor i have?...,The dealer is not much help and i do not want to throw away $300.00+ for a set if i do not need one..

I will e-mail TRD and see what they say and maybe they can be of help..

Good Luck Ajay . Please let me know anything you come to find out. Im leaning towarding getting some aftermarket 20" wheels and im going with the same tire size thats on the Platinum and Limited. Im gonna go by this local rim shop this weekend and Ill ask plenty of questions. I ll let you know what I come up with regarding what degree sensors.

Ajay... What will happen if you mount your new rims/tires without the TPMS other than the dummy light constantly showing up? Living on the east coast - I was looking to swap between 22s in the summer and the stock 20s in the winter... Looking forward to see what you find out.

Nothing will happen but to me it bothers me when i am driving and i see lights on my dashboard.


I just got through talking to a dealer and he said all i need is part#
BULK PPO PT586-3407B(cost $23.00) that is a TPMS 20 degree angle OR single P/N 42607-0C030.
