I just removed the cheap Audiovox Remote Start the dealer installed and installed an
Astrostart RSS-5224. Sweet system with a 1 mile range and 2-way communication (lets you know lock status, whether the truck is running, etc...)
I only have one problem which I also had with he Audiovox. If the lights are set in Auto mode and you either let the remote start timer run out or use the remote start to "stop" the vehicle, the lights stay on and don't turn off at all. Again, this only happens if the lights are set in Auto mode and only at night whereas they need to come on.
Any ideas? I read in another post on a 2005 Tundra that if you shut the truck off and left the truck out the passenger side and didn't open the driver's side door the lights would stay on. Probably the same issue. I'd love to find a way to correct it but don't think it is anything the installer did wrong (since the same issue happened with the dealer-installed system)
