Tire Rotation for 2008 Sequoia - Toyota Tundra Forums : Tundra Solutions Forum

I was getting the tire rotation done this weekend on 2008 Sequoia. The manual says to rotate front to back but no crossing. However the autoshop rotated criss cross by mistake. Would it be okay? I did not understand why cross rotation was not recommended in owner's manual.

If the stock tires are directional then no crossing. My SR5 has stock Bridgestone Dueler's/non-directional tires and I intend to cross at the first rotation. When these are toast I'll upgrade to Dueler Revo's which I have run before and crossed with no issues. Directional tires will have an arrow for rotation imprinted on the sides. Perhaps the Platinum's or maybe the Limited's come with directional tires but not my SR5. I checked the manual, it shows just a front to back rotation. Sorry but I intend to violate that recommendation since I don't have directional tires and see no need to shorten tire life by not crossing. Perhaps a call to Bridgestone or the tire brand on your Sequoia might clear things up. I see no reason not to cross rotate these tires regardless of what the manual says. Call a stealership and see what they say.

also make sure that you have the proper tire pressure after you do the rotation. the 20 inch factory tire calls for 30 psi in the front and 33 psi in the rear. when my local dealership did my rotation, the forgot to change the pressure.

Do yourself a favor and put a black mark on each of the rear tires. I nailed my honda dealer who lied up and down that they were rotated even after I showed them the marks to prove they weren't. Now I own a toyota..

funny you mentioned that, i forgot to mark my tires, but i was glad the pressure was wrong, that was my ONLY indication that the wheels were rotated, lol.

Thanks for the replies. I guess i will try to find out if my tires are directional. I have 2008 SR5 2WD. Stock Tires, no upgrade. The autoshop did what some people call "modified cross" where back tires go straight ahead and front tires cross in the back. I found out from a missing tire pressure cap that they did rotate it. However having a white paint mark is a good one, seeing is believing.
