I just purchased a 2008 Sequoia SR5 5.7L 4x4 with leather, JBL (not the navi), cold weather, carpets, fog lights, sunroof, running boards, and some other small stuff.
I got the SR5 over the LTD because I wasn't so excited about the hydraulic assisted suspension. (I had bad experiences with that type of suspension on mercedes cars)
Anyhow, I was curious to know what everyone else paid for theirs. I would mostly like to get feedback from people who have bought their cars recently, like in the last 2 weeks or so. I am thinking about buying a second one for my wife and wanted to know if people were able to get a lower discount than me, and if so by how much. I want to know if I can do even better the second time around!
Can you state your MSRP as equipped as well as your final purchase price?
Mine was MSRP: $46,719.00 PURCHASE PRICE: $36,250.00
I bought mine when gas was $5.00 a gal 4 or 5 months ago and I did as you did. Leather 4x4 SR5 sunroof with some other add ons. My MSRP was $46880 I got it for $34960 with toyota zero% and paid for a 100,000 mile platnum or premier warranty that was around $1600. Just under $1000 a month for 3 years. I have replaced the head unit with the Avic-f90bt pioneer in dash dvd, nav, cd, dvd, xm, tv etc. I did to JL audio HD amps upgraded all speakers to zr series jl audio,(You can feel the music) 1-10" jl w6 in a custom box, a compustar pro starter and alarm and a 15" flip down TV in the back. 22" rims and nitto tires are waiting for spring to get put on. I also did a chrome front bull bar and Piaa super white 6" lights. Its gonna look really sweet when the rims are on in spring and still way under msrp. I will probably do the corsa exhaust now that TRD dropped the ball on there exhaust. Thinking about two pipes exiting both sides in front of the rear wheel.
You ever notice how people brag about how cheap they got a car yet do the opposite about the cost of there house...lol.. I got a great deal on my house too...

99.9999% of all cars depreciate the moment they are driven off the lot...therefore the lower the price at purchase the less you lose.
Houses appreciate therefore higher priced homes have the opportunity to appreciate in value not depreciate, therefore the purchase price is all about what you can afford. .....Oh wait....houses appreciating were before the latest housing crisis.... Uh, please disregard my earlier reference to houses appreciating

Pheew. That is an awesome deal!!!!
You know, I had no idea about the $5000 cash back in the summer. If I knew about it, I would've been all over it!
How about anyone else with the $4000 cash back that is currently going on?
I haven't bought mine yet but the lowest I've got is : MSRP is 38.5k and dealer offer is $32.4k (OTD).
With 6.75% tax, title & license (no idea, probably about $100-200), the price is floating around $30k. That includes the $4k rebate. Roughly $8.5k under MSRP.

Yeah that sounds about right when compared to my deal. I think they're still holding $500 or so at that price. I'm not sure that it is justified considering the car is 1 year old, although new.
If somebody has the patience, a big city volume dealer might let one go for $1000 below adjusted cost. You'd gave to be pretty lenient on colors and options, however.

You guys are soooo. lucky now.. i bought mine in jan 08 and paid 45k for a sr5 model. sr5 white, with sunroof, tow package, front and rear backup sensor, no fog light, 5.7 liter, 4x4 6 speed trans. total with 100k toytoa extended warrenty, plus tax comes out to 45k ...there was no rebate at the time.
Hi all. This past week I found a Platinum demo with 1800 miles at a dealership in Ohio. Sticker was right at 59,000. I paid 45,900. I drove it back to Florida. These trucks are SWEET on the road.
Toyota west in Columbus. Ask for dean...I think they still have a platinum with 11000 or so miles. It's certified with the 100k warranty. I'll bet you might get a screaming deal.
Well, $10k discount for something that has $59k MSRP isn't that low of a discount (~15%), especially when it was a demo vehicle. If you can find one with $40k MSRP and still get a $10k discount(~25%), now that is LOW.
Toyota West does have a Platinum sitting at their used car (not at new car) side, I believe the asking price is $46k. If someone can get that for $32-34k OTD, that's a steal.
MSRP $45,605
Cassis Pearl SR5 5.7 4X4
Beige Leather
Tow Package
Cold Weather Pkg
Sunroof
Plus some other things
Picking it up next Saturday.
The only thing I wish it would have had was the JBL w/ steering wheel radio controls, but I can live w/o it given the deal. This is a deal, right?
Paid $35,494 plus tax/title/etc.
$6,100 "discount" + $4,000 rebate.
Yeah, I'd say you did well.
And I wouldn't worry about the JBL... the only option that interests me on it is the Bluetooth, but I never use it because my GPS unit (Nuvi 660) has a much more capable touch screen and directory page, as well as bluetooth.
The voice activation on the JBL is a nice touch, but I get frustrated because I have to go through a ton of submenus to do anything with it and if I am on the phone with an automated menu then it's basically impossible to voice dial numbers and be quick enough to make it work.
The sound is nice though, but I don't know how the stock radio sounds and I may just be justifying the extra $1000 for the system.
/ JBL rant.
