Wife went out of town so I finally had some time to install the projectors that have been sitting in my garage for a couple months. I found some WRX projectors on ebay that use the h11 bulbs. I already bought hids for the reflector so I was glad to find them. It's a b!tch to get these headlights back together as the corner is really tough to reset.

No night shots yet as it's still light out. Those will come later when I aim them properly. Sorry for the quality as the wife took the good camera so I had to use my phone.

I am looking to do the same on mine except I will probably go with 6000k bulbs because I'd like them to have as close to an OEM look as possible. They look pretty good!!!

How much time did it take you for the total retrofit?

The bulbs are actually 6000k

. You may want to do 4000k if you are going for a stock look.

Total time was about 4 hours but I had to take one apart again because the shroud was touching the lens :S and I stripped the alignment screw.

Thanks! I like the way they compliment the actual housing. Its almost like they were made for eachother

Thanks! I like the way they compliment the actual housing. Its almost like they were made for eachother

Oh wow, those are 6000k, huh? Are they that blue in real life or is that the way it turned out in the pic? I don't really want to go 4500k... they're too greenish yellow for my taste.

Oh yeah and those shrouds do look awesome.

I think its the camera. They are really white with a blue tint at the cutoff. I will get some night shots with my real camera for you. I have had them on my previous 4runner and now the sequoia. Definitely my favorite color temp.

I had to take the other headlight apart today due to the shroud. It pushed the lens off the body in the corner

. Fingers are killing me! For anyone using these shrouds in the future make sure you have clearance before you put these back together. Now it has come full circle as to why it was so hard to get the corners back together OOPS!

Night shots would be great man. I'm also coming from a 2004 4runner and one of the nice things about it was that you didn't need projectors because the cutoff was so sharp IIRC.

Ok Here are the night pics. Tried a couple different settings. The reason the fogs are a different color in the one pic is because of the camera.

Bobby,

I basically just followed the write up to black out the headlights in the tundra forum. I also used the knowledge from the HIDplanet forums to do the retro. The hardest modification I made was drilling out the back of the reflector with a hole saw in order to access the bulb holder for the projector.
