If you have 2008 Sequoia with NAV system there is a way to access hidden menu, and apparently (according to dealer) there is a way to override the system (NAV) so you can use it when driving, he just won’t do or tell for a safety reasons….does anyone played with this yet?

Its true... except
There is several ways to override nav
1. make a hybrid DVD to do that or
2. build a pulse generator
Well, I know there is a way to access hidden NAV menu, because I did it, just have to play around bit more with it and try not to screw it up I’ve heard about hybrid DVD but as far as I know you need older version of that DVD and of course pulse generator is brilliant and inexpensive but you have to take “half a truck” apart to install it and I’m not really comfortable doing it
Well, it's easy but you need someone to help you, I was not able to do it by myself ....here we go...one person has to press and hold "Info" button (this works for Sequoia with NAV System) and the other one has to turn the key to ACC position immediately follow by turning your lights on and off three times as fast as you can (you have to go all the way and back three times)
Good luck and let me know.

I have a disc and to get it to work you go to the volume screen and press invisable keys left top, left bottom, left top, left bottom then a screen appears with an override button. I think that what your looking for.

I have been following this thread for a couple days and am confused. Why would the manufacturer hide any menus. I understand that some buttons may reduce functionality etc. but the NAV units are ours aren't they? A master reset would take care of any goof ups on the consumers part. Not to mention the fact we paid top dollar for them to boot. I am not a audio or electronics expert but this doesn't make any sense.

Has anyone had success with this Nav override approach??
Back in the day, the easiest way to bypass the "driver input while stopped only" would be to cut the wire leading to the wheel speed sensor. That said, I don't know the circuitry of the Sequoia and so I am not sure what will work or will not work. I am just saying, that was the old way to do it.

Cutting that wire disables the entire Nav unit. Do not cut the wire to the wheel speed sensor.
Works on my unit but as I mentioned earlier I had someone mess with the disc. This still is a very disappointing navagation and voice system. The voice menus are to cumbersome and often unrecognized and if I relied on it finding addresses correctly I end up on the moon.
