I have a Southeast Toyota and I believe they installed an aftermarket video system. My video disc is installed in the backseat unit and no control is available from the front seat controls. Is this the same as other "factory" systems? With my system, do I need to run any additional wires to the backseat video to see front seat video on the Nav system using the PS bypass?

Yes indeed, looks like you have an aftermarket set up instead of factory RSES. I am not sure if we spoke last Friday. In any event, if you have any further question please do not hesitate to email or call us.
One other thing, can it be set up to turn on the back up camera while underway. I sometimes pull a small dirtbike trailer that is not visible in the mirrors. It would be great to be able to check on things while underway.
hey all,
i got my 2010 seq with RES installed with the module by mark and his crew on a weekend here in socal....
the unit works well, i like the two buttons to access the bypass vs. coastal tech units for GMs i bought in the past.... btw, they don't have anything for the 2010 models yet....
on the 2010 models, due to more nanny features by toyota, the gps goes off line when you access the video but it quickly reacquires the signal when you come back.... not an issue, in my opinion.
so far no glitches.... (you have to have the video bypass off to see rear camera when u drive backward, otherwise the screen says something to the effect that your back door is open...)
I would prefer having a rear camera access myself 'cause i pull trailers and MC hitch, etc but it's not currently available....i think they are working on it so, i'd go back if they figure that out.... probably accessing the rear gear signal?
Does this device allow video playback of a 3rd party device, like an IPod or Portable DVD Player, on the nav screen?

yeah, have it in my 2010 seq ltd with RES....
works well; not sure if you can put 3rd party source video thru input and have it show on the nav/front screen as well....i would think so.....
when you have the dvd bypass, when u put the car in rev, the rear cam does not work; it will give u an error msg that your back door is open....just push the button to turn off the bypass...no biggie.....
otherwise, the other thing is, when you come back from bypass, to oem setting, the nav will take a minute to find where you are then start displaying the correct location....
