Default 22's or 24's

Okay I'm still looking and having a hard time deciding between the two wheel sizes. I have heard that the 24's will look better but the 22's will ride better. I want to know how much better is the difference that noticeable? Tires on the 24's were going to be 305/35 and the 22's were going to be 305/45. Any input that you guys could give would be appreciated.
Some questions:
How much of a riding difference is there?
Is the turning radius compromised?
Will the gap be the same between tire and wheel well?
Which tires are better for the price?
Thanks in advanced. Aloha.

I guess my question would be is the diferance between the 35 side wall and the 45 sidewall 2 inches? Although mine has never rubbed its VERY close. Another 2 inches "WOW" thats really close. My buddy has 24" on his silverado I thing there 35 sidewall and its a decent ride. Personally I like the 22" ATR better than the 18 inch stock. Its a firmer ride like a BMW. No mushy ride any more but thats personal taste.

I doubt you will have any problem with rubbing or turning radius. If you check out cardomain.com and pull up 2008 toyota sequoia there are 2 members on there, one with 26" and one with 24" wheels. Both are stock height and they both look good. As far as the ride, never had 24's on my sequoia but I had 305/35/24 on my yukon and I didnt notice much of a difference from the stock 17's. And the sequoia suspension feels better than my yukon did so I'm willing to bet you will be very happy with 24's.

The bigger the wheel, the more unsprung rotational mass. So, expect decreased acceleration and braking performance.

Also, the ride may be harsher and you run the risk of getting a bent rim from potholes, manhole covers, etc...

Just be aware of these things. Don't expect your Sequoia to feel the same as it does stock.

There are not as many 24" rim mfg than 22" rim for our Sequoia. Either way post up pics of your ride once you get them.

I have 22's and 305/40 Terra Grapplers which are great for my 2008. I wanted a certain look and some "off road" practicality. They hold up fine in the mountains and have pulled over 6000 pounds. The turning radius is perfectly the same. The only thing I think you will notice with 22's and more so with 24's is the ride is a little more rigid. Not horrible but lacking that extra cushion in the wheel can make it feel a little harsher. I have photos on my profile if you want to check them out.

Default Re: 22's or 24's

I have 22'S on my 2008 Tundra and i have had 24'S on at one time also. The 22'S are a much smoother ride and every bump doesn't feel like your vehicle is going to explode. But another side of the ride comfort is the tires and the brand of tires that you have. Currently I have Kumho Ecsta STX'S 305/45r/22 they great really great traction and are a very solid wheels that keeps tread for a very long time. The only down fall is that there is alot of wheel gap between the tires and the fender wells. I have a pic up on my profile or you can write me and I can send you a couple different pics and you will understand what im saying.

my wheels are offered in 24's but im not a fan of rubber band tires, i like a little more sidewall for potholes that i know the wife will hit.
