Re: 2008, 2009 & 2010 Sequoia...Owners': R U Satisfied?!
Most definitely satisfied and have no complaints! It's the perfect SUV for any family and when I drive the thing it's like night and day compared to my 04 Tundra.
I would certainly buy another one without a doubt any day.

I really like the Sequoia and it is a perfect fit for my family, it was a replacement for our 2003 Yukon. The engine and especially the transmission are exceptional, fuel mileage is great for a vehicle with so much weight and power. This thing is a snow beast!! Skiers have to love it. I don't think there is a better full sized SUV.
However: A few things that bug the hell out of me on my 'Limited' Sequoia.
1. NO MEMORY SEAT!! - This is ridiculous on a vehicle that has headlamp washers and sonar...come on.
2. I am very rattle conscious and the second row seats 'flutter' when no one is in them. If the 2nd row shoulder straps are not placed just right they rattle on the rear pillar.
3. The flat finish on the dash is weird, not quite sure the best way to clean it.
4. NO MEMORY SEAT!!
5. The range on the factory remote start is a JOKE.
If I were right now in the market for a new full size I would buy the Sequoia again for sure.

My EXACT thoughts.. Except it is a TOW beast!! Boaters will love it.
Love EVERYTHING minus the dash layout and quality. The 2nd row belts do flutter.
Now if I had to brag on its good qualities, this post would be pages.... long story short-- powertrain, steering, ride, interior room, etc etc un-matched.

Sorry...
1) Yes
2) 99%
I would not replace the vehicle with anything on the market under 80k. Do it again? Yes.

I have a Plat 4x4 and I've owned many vehicles in the past but never an SUV. Since I bought the Seq, I have had the opprtunity to drive others and nothing comes close.
By far, the best vehicle I've ever owned.
Re: 2008, 2009 & 2010 Sequoia...Owners': R U Satisfied?!
I've got an 08 platinum 2wd. My previous DD was a 91 landcruiser. Yes thats a heck of an upgrade. (cheaper on gas 15mpg vs 12!!, with about 2.5 times the hp) But it was time. Wife really wanted the sequoia, I was leaning towards a slightly used LC or LX470 for that kind of money. The sequoia is growing on me. I'm banking on toyota quality but if the sequoia gives me trouble down the line I may regret the decision. I like the history of the LC. I plan on keeping this vehicle at least 10 years. May regret not getting 4wd if we move back north in that time frame.
Overall a great vehicle and am completely satisfied.

I have a Black/Red Rock Platinum Sequoia. It now has 26,000 miles. I wouldn't trade it for anything in its class on the market or that's even been proposed for launch in the coming year.

I am relatively happy. I feel the interior is cheaply constructed with noticeable rattles over uneven pavement. I also think that there is not enough differentiation between the trim lines. The Limited was not even an option because I could get everything I wanted (leather, roof, JBL, etc) on the SR5 with nothing I didn't want (chrome trim, etc) for cheaper.

If there is one big area of improvement, I would say its the quality of the interior panels and dash. They just feel too plastic-ey and mar very easily. This is one area that is actually a meaningful step backward from the 1st gen Sequoia. The door panels etc. in the first gen Sequoia had a soft touch and luxurious feel to them. This is definitely an area where the cost cutting has gone too far and is evident. Panels work for a pickup (Tundra) they don't work for a $50K SUV.
Steering could also do with a bit more heft. The current calibration is light and quick....a bad combination. A bit more heft would work well. I wouldn't change how quick the steering is, nor the brilliant turning radius....just the heft.
Love the suspension in the Platinum. The adjustable suspension really does work and does a brilliant job in controlling body motions. I drive 95% of the time in Sport mode as it really helps with controlling the side to side weigh transfer in transient manouvering. The other 5% of the time is when I'm cruising on the interstate and my 2 year old is asleep, which is when i switch to Normal.
Agree with others that HID headlamps and SmartKey are conspiciously absent at the Platinum level. I've seen HID retrofits on the road (on Tundras) and would not do it. The glare is evident and pattern dispersion poor, making it evident that the HIDs are not engineered well, but have been added after the fact.
Everything else (space, regular fuel, cabin flexibility etc.) is superb. Heck I even think the JL Audio system is decent.
Excellent review! I agree with everything, specially the steering part. It should have more weight on that, while still being quick (as it is on the FX). Same for the plastic interior and the HID and smart key, I miss these ones a lot.
I looked closely at the LX 570, but I decided I couldn't afford one. This is the one for me. I would definitely buy one again, does not mean it could not be better.
