2008, 2009 & 2010 Sequoia...Owners': R U Satisfied?!
Well got a question for those who tried other makes and models of similar SUV's and now I wish to learn about their experiences of the 2nd generation Sequoias and ask them:
1) Are you Satisfied?
2) To what degree?

2008. 10K miles. LOVE LOVE LOVE this SUV!!
Best Full Size SUV there is...not to mention top of the class towing capacity. I would re-buy it in a heartbeat!

i would have liked to have gotten the audi suv, what was it, the Q7? or something? but the sequoia had the interior space that i wanted, second row seating has an incredible amount of space, so much so that i was sold on it the minute i sat back there. performance wise, that turning radius is second to none, incredible for a vehicle of that size. gas sux, but that was to be expected. stock wheels and stereo have got to go, but that might just be me. no other complaints.

1) I'm pretty satisfied, though I wish the Platinum trim had HID headlights and LED taillights. However, I feel that the Sequoias are a bit pricey. With that said, I still went ahead and bought one.
2) I've had no regrets so far. If Toyota continues to improve on the Sequoia as they did with between the 1st and 2nd gen. I'll probably buy a 3rd gen (or possibly 4th - depending on when I need to buy a new vehicle).
Re: 2008, 2009 & 2010 Sequoia...Owners': R U Satisfied?!
1) Yes. I was NOT looking for a Sequoia...until I was seeing that people were getting 10K+ off of these things! then with 87 Octane ~$2. I thought why get a lesser SUV...
2) I am probably 8.5/10. If they had air cooled seats and HID on limited models and above, this would be a 10/10. But I see some kits on ebay to resolve the HID light issue.

Re: 2008, 2009 & 2010 Sequoia...Owners': R U Satisfied?!
Powertrain and drivetrain are absolutely first rate. The 5.7 is a gem of a motor.....powerful and refined. The 6-speed auto compliments it perfectly.
If there is one big area of improvement, I would say its the quality of the interior panels and dash. They just feel too plastic-ey and mar very easily. This is one area that is actually a meaningful step backward from the 1st gen Sequoia. The door panels etc. in the first gen Sequoia had a soft touch and luxurious feel to them. This is definitely an area where the cost cutting has gone too far and is evident. Panels work for a pickup (Tundra) they don't work for a $50K SUV.
Steering could also do with a bit more heft. The current calibration is light and quick....a bad combination. A bit more heft would work well. I wouldn't change how quick the steering is, nor the brilliant turning radius....just the heft.
Love the suspension in the Platinum. The adjustable suspension really does work and does a brilliant job in controlling body motions. I drive 95% of the time in Sport mode as it really helps with controlling the side to side weigh transfer in transient manouvering. The other 5% of the time is when I'm cruising on the interstate and my 2 year old is asleep, which is when i switch to Normal.
Agree with others that HID headlamps and SmartKey are conspiciously absent at the Platinum level. I've seen HID retrofits on the road (on Tundras) and would not do it. The glare is evident and pattern dispersion poor, making it evident that the HIDs are not engineered well, but have been added after the fact.
Everything else (space, regular fuel, cabin flexibility etc.) is superb. Heck I even think the JL Audio system is decent.

1) Engine, tranny, interior room, storage, looks, suspension, brakes, acceleration.....all awesome.
only thing that isn't first rate is the nav system and the Dunlop rubber.
2) would I buy another one....in a heartbeat.
Re: 2008, 2009 & 2010 Sequoia...Owners': R U Satisfied?!
Satisfied...yes. Great size and storage space, great drive (steering is a bit overboosted for my taste, but liveable). I would have to agree on the plastickyness, especially on the doors......they get very easily scuffed up getting in and out. My only other wish would be to lower the seats a tad. I'm 6' 2.5", and just fit with the seats all the way down. With so much space available, a wider range of adjustment should be there.
I've had Hondas all my life, and this is our first Toyota. If Honda had made something like a Pilot on steroids, we'd have continued down that road, but they had nothing like that, so our only other choice was a Sequoia.
Now don't lynch me here, but if I had to compare all my Hondas to the Sequoia, while the Sequoia is well built, high quality, reliable (no need to go on), it doesn't seem to be as "solid" as my Hondas. For example, if I close the drivers door on my Sequoia (sitting inside), when you pull on the handle to close, it gives back and forth, and just doesn't feel "tight". Or, when you close the hood, and the grille kind of bounces a bit. I know, I'm being nitpicky, but hey, I notice these things.
Given all that......would I buy another......definitely.
