I NEED HELP! My Toyota Sequoia (2008) is stuck at a body shop while they search for longer wheel studs. They had my truck to get my custom wheels powder coated, which they outsourced, and found that my existing wheel studs are so short the lugs barely thread on to them. I ordered my wheels through Discount Tire and they never mentioned this issue to me. (No surprise) So my truck is sitting at this body shop with no wheels as they search for slightly longer wheel studs. I hate to come on here with no specifics but I was hoping somebody could point me to a source to find longer wheel studs that will fit. I can't totally rely on the body shop and I need to get my truck back for work. I just want to speed up this process and I know this is the best forum to do that. Any direction would help!!!! Thank you!!!!
any auto parts store should be able to hook you up, ive busted a few studs in my time, but ive always replaced them with stock, so i dont know about getting longer ones. that sux, which wheels did you order by the way? so i can avoid the same issue.
They are the Boss 331, black with polished aluminum lip. The whole reason I found this problem was refinishing my wheels and powder coating them all black.
WOW I have the Boss 329 what off set did you get? They make a 20 and 40. That might be the issue.
What nuts are you using to tighten them down? No jokes guys/gals ..lol..
Sorry about the pic quality its a camera phone pic. I resized in photobucket it will take a minute Moderaters.
Ok I just went and removed one here are the pics. I have 5 complete turns and then wrench tightened. I can live with that. I would call BOSS because when I did that wheel wasn't available for me. I wanted 6 spokes and they said not available for the sequoia.
Here is the discount tire item number for the nuts
80300 NRM Gorilla whl install kit $45.00

The HUB does all the work in reguards to keeping the wheels on the truck. The bolts just keep the wheel tight on the hub. With 5 bolts and 5 full 360 hand turns and then Tq wrench tighten the akorns. I am 100% satisfied. If anyone is worried throw on some lock tight. I would do Blue as red is a pain in the a$$..
as long as your satisfied, i would be nervous though, probably not so much if it was my ride, but i wouldnt trust my wife with that, she drives like a maniac.
I did a trailer with two motorcycles up and down deals gap 318 corners in 11 miles with the sequoia. I checked all the bolts yesturday and none have moved in 3000 miles. Here the type of corners.
Look at the yellow line Thats the road. The blue is the lake around it

HAHA! It looks like those nuts are the same type mustang64708 told me to look into. For now, we are going to tack some longer studs in, they fit hammer tight not press tight, but the wheels will be on better than before.
