Default Headrest DVD players

Hi there, I came across this site on a quest for some help fitting a pair of headrest DVD players to the better halfs 2008 Seqouia. And feel that after the help I got on how to fit em from a picture gallery on here just wanted to say thanks.
I got em on ebay from a dealer in China who sends em out from a warehouse somewhere in NC i think. They set me back $260 delivered and there were no customs or other charges. Almost identical to the ones I saw in the post except these ones I got were in Beige (or whatever Toyota call it) and they had zippered flap that covered the screens when not in use.
As for features I seriously doubt even a fraction of the options will ever be used ( one is for a 1 year old and the other a 10 year old ... ahhhh peace on the road) anyways, they have built in speakers or can connect wirelessly to the FM stereo with a really good sound, came with 2 wireless headphones, 2 wired game controllers, 2 wireless game controllers, 2 remote controls, all the wires and connectors needed to connect usb thingies, ipods etc, build in card reader and 2 discs preloaded with over 300 games... the quality seems good and I was really surprised when I opened the box as I really expected something of "questionable" quality
Well thats bout it.
Apart from a genuine Toyota wood dash kit I also got on the Bay (for a fraction of what Toyota wanted for one) its just as it was when we bought it............... spoiler might be on the cards for the summer tho.

Well thanks again, If anyone is in the market for one of those DVD players I can vouch for the one I got, but I suspect they rle all pretty much the same from all the dealers on ebay, as my dad says, They're all made in the same factory (except he says it bout EVERYTHING)

Strange world we live in - I just did the exact same thing - new to the site looking for Headrest DVD install guidance. Bought from the same dealer (from China) in NC on ebay... beige, no less. Just received the set yesterday and mounted them in the beast. All I have left is to connect to power. That's this evening's task. Great to hear that it works. If this works out well, I may spring for another set for the last row... though I sense it may be a tad bit trickier to deal with.

And yes - the photo gallery referred to was a great guide to get me started.

I wish I could find two sets for mine, with redrock interior. I've found one that does the job for $2500.00 (and this for just one set).

Yeah the Redrock interior has got to be the best looking choice for the sequoia without doubt but I suppose being as individual looking as it is its probably near impossible to find accessories that are an exact match, I did however have a quick look around on the web today and found this site http://www.headrestvideo.com/products.html , they list the redrock leather replacement headrest with DVD for the 2008/2009 model years with 7 inch built in dvd with the ir headphones and all the extras.... touchscreen too... http://www.headrestvideo.com/vsheadr...ud7pkgdvd.html dont know who they are or what the quality is like or how close the color match would be, i'm sure it would be easy enough to get more info bout em but at $1300 they are still a bit pricey but nearly half of what you were already quoted, hope thats of help to you.

Thanks, man good links!

I've seen do it yourself instructions over the net, I wonder if I should just use mine. Even if I make a mistake, it's unlikely that I would screw up all 4 fours. I'd just have to buy one oem in that case, right? I wonder how much would that be.

Sorry - been offline for a while...

Here's a link to seller's current offering (of same product):

Pair Headrest 7" LCD Car Monitor 2 DVD Player FM USB SD - eBay (item 180367244068 end time Jul-09-09 22:59:31 PDT)

System worked great during a trip last week (9+ hrs of driving each way). Kids stayed quiet. This replaced a older system that strapped onto the back of the seats.

All I need to do now is figure out a way to hard wire an inverter to allow the kids to use the old Xbox (not 360). I don't really like having an inverter that plugs into cig lighter...
