Just wanted to say hello, within the next few weeks I will be the owner of a 2008 Sequoia Platinum 4x4 5.7 (Black with Red Rock Interior). Fully loaded with every option available with 19k miles on it for $40k, which according to kbb.com and the auctions that I take care of for TFS is a good price.
Long time member of Toyotanation.com and Solaraguy.com having had both a TRD Supercharged (plus everything else they made) Camry and Solara. Selling the Camry now. At this point I have no intention of supercharging the Sequoia.
We also have a 2009 Highlander Sport which I have modified and intend on doing the same with my Sequoia.
I have a list of about 10-15 modifications and one of them is possibly adding a Borla exhaust system. I searched the net to try to find a video so I can hear what it sounds like, anyone have or have a link?
I'm guessing the reflectors in the Sequoia are the same size as the Highlander so I will be changing them to LED's like I did with the HL as well as adding a supplementary reverse light system that will tie in with my backup lights.
I have been looking for some LEDS to go in that same spot in the rear. Where did you pick them up at?

Get the 2.5" which is a perfect fit (at least on the HL, I'm sure if you were to have a Toyota dealership cross reference the reflectors for the Sequoia and Highlander you'd get the same part number).
One thing I messed up on was thinking one order was for 2 lights but it is $12.95 for each. The guy is very nice and didn't charge me shipping for the 2nd one.
They are available in white with red LED or red with red LED. I went with the red/red for a more OEM look.
Greetings too BTW. I just measured the reflectors and they are just over 2". Nice mod to the highlander!

Thanks, I also like some of the mods that you've done with your Sequoia. Are there more detailed instructions regarding the smoking of the headlights? I actually prefer the blackout look rather than a cover that changes the light output.
I guess if I ever go HID I will smoke them as well. There is a company a fellow Solara owner used called Home - Custom Lightz - The HID Retrofit & Parts Specialist that did an awesome, functional, OEM looking retro. I'm not one for just putting in a HID bulb without the proper projector, etc.
I just ordered a set of the LED's for the Sequoia and will also be ordering a White Night system for it as well. Makes a HUGE difference at night. My wife initially wasn't happy with the look of the WNS on her Highlander and now when I asked if I could take it off and put it one my Sequoia, she told me to get my own White Night Rear Lighting System, Truck SUV Reverse Lights
I'll have an appointment soon with my tint guy for 20% on the front windows (to hopefully match perfectly with the rear windows, 55% on the front windshield and 5% on the moonroof.
Actually I smoked the tail lights and did the black headlight mod to the headlights as well as retro'd some projectors. The smoking of tails or headlights is fairly simple. Just use light coats of the vht nightshades until you reach your desired darkness. Then hit them with some clear coat. about 5 coats. If you want them to be shiny you could wet sand them with some 2000 then polish. I just polished them a little as I liked the flat look.
I also ordered the set of 2" leds from the link you gave . Been looking for a while to try and find some leds that are white / light up red that would fit in the reflector spot and you hooked it up! I will post pics once they are installed.

The 2.5" is actually what I have in my HL. I believe they (reflectors) are the same size b/t the HL and Sequoia. The 2" might be a bit small. If you have the time, call a Toyota dealer and ask them to compare the part numbers for the reflector for the HL and Sequoia.
Guess I will be the guinea pig on this as the are already ordered. I think they should be a perfect fit though as the measurement on the sequoia reflectors is just over 2" and the diameterfor these lights is 2.05". I will post pics up when the mod is complete!

Did you get yours yet? Mine came today and I will have them installed on Saturday along with the White Night system. If I have enough time I will also be visiting my tint guy.
Getting car Wed, bodyshop for a couple paint scratches and grill painting on Thursday.
No they should be here today though. I will probably install them tonight and get some pics up if I get the time.
