Only 30000 miles on the truck and I noticed some shake in the front end under braking. Took it to the dealer and service manager said the front rotors are warped. He also said it was not a warranty issue but agreed to fix it as a "good will gesture" this once, after a lot of talking. I see no way I could have possibly taxed these rotors enough to warp them having never towed anything and still having significant life left on the brake pads.
Has anyone else had issues with the rotors on their 08 and up Sequoia? I did a search and found one thread but wanted to see how many, if any, had issues.
Same here. I took mine in with about 27000 on the clock. I did not get them done under warranty. They were able to turn them to get the warp out, and I had them do the front pads while they were there. I have never done anything that should have warped these rotors.

fscaife, When they replaced yours did they use the same type or different? They said the pads were fine but I was considering changing to another type to see if that might be causing the problem. I don't see why these brakes should be heating up so much with no towing. I even use the gears to slow the truck frequently. Anybody else have a recommendation on brake pads?
they are the same as the tundras i assume and tons of us have warped them....so its common...do a search over in our forum and you'll see...and alot of us tow but dont tow too big and our rides down weigh as much as the squoia- it is kinda a lard butt u know haha. but yeah, the rotors warp. most people have gotten them fixed under warranty or as a good will...some multiple times...i have 32k on mine and they have been doing it since 12k miles and i never got around to taking it in...not too big of a deal to me...
Tundra Crewmax 2007 warped rotors at 12,500 miles, you would think they would fix this issue. Never towed and only rare light loads. 18500 miles currently and it will be going back for same issue again.
i think its just too big of a truck for the rotors...they say they are big blah blah blah but i think its poor cooling, large rotating mass with the wheels, and just crap like that. but then again what do i know other than i do tend to brake heavily so im not too suprised at mine
Here you go! 38K Rotors warped again! Need advice!
You are not the only one. I warped 8 rotors during 38k of ownership.
just paid a lot of cash to get the new stuff. Toyota refused to cover their rotors that served me about a year or 17k.
So I went with NAPA stuff
150 miles still mushy, but they are new.

i wanted to get some drilled and slotted rotors when i did the new wheels, but they sent the wrong ones, and returning those was the biggest PIA that i wont order from them again. i'll just wait till the stock ones warp.
ZPAUL,
Ran across your thread when I was looking for some ammo to take to the service manager. It helped me get them repaired for free and I appreciate it. I hope you will keep us up to date with how the NAPA stuff works out because I'm definitely not putting the same junk on when I go to replace them if they warp again.
We are awaiting quotes from several foundries for our heavy duty perfromance rotor... hope to have some info very soon.
