Default Sequoia hitch rating (2008-up)

I posted this in the towing forum, but got no replies. anybody know?

does anyone know what class hitch is on the new sequoias with a towing package?
I can't find the info anywhere. I would assume it is a class 3, but with toyota specs of the sequoia being able to tow more than 9000 lbs, it would need a class 4.

also, i know the tundras have a class 4, at least according to toyotas towing information document, but they don't mention the sequoia.

see here....http://www.toyota.com/pdfs/towguide_Part1.pdf

thanks for the help

well after getting no answers anywhere, i went to the web to see what aftermarket companies are making for the sequoia.

reese shows a type of hitch that bolts around the "vehicle impact bar."

so i went outside and looked at my sequoia to see what this was. this impact bar is actually part of the frame, is looks like it is a rear crossmember for the frame. this whole piece is actually welded, not bolted to the frame. the reese system just bolts around this "bar."

the factory tow package has a receiver actually welded to this bar in multiple places. it looks very stout.

so with this setup, i still have no idea what "class" receiver this is, but if toyota says I can tow 9000 + lbs, i will

I've seen it listed as a class IV. As you can see, it is a very well built piece, part of the frame. I have a rear frame section if you like some up close pictures.
