    Default Performance Hit

I have a 2011 Sequoia Limited with which I am currently running the stock wheels and stock-sized tires (275/55 R20). This spring I am installing the Revtek lift/leveling kit and am planning on putting on new wheels and tires. Will probably go with a 20-inch wheel and am looking at putting on a 305/55 R20 tire, probably the Nitto Terra Grappler.

From my research, the stock wheel/tire combo weighs in at about 80 lbs. The new tire/wheel combo I'm looking at will be about 94 lbs. My question is for those whom have switched to the 305/55 R20 size tire. Have you noticed much of a performance hit in terms of power loss with the larger tire? How badly has the trucks fuel economy been affected?

    Thanks in advance.

We are running 305/50/20s. No power loss noticed. MPG has dropped about 1 mpg but we went from an 18" on our 08 limited. I doubt you will see any loss since you are already at 20. BTW...I am running that size with no lift, stock 2wd suspension, and no rubbing.

I had considered running the 305/50 R20 but ended up deciding against it. Profile is only 0.1 inch different from the stock wheels and I really don't like the low-profile look of the OEM setup. Thought about going to 305/55 as I have seen some pictures of others with this tire size but discovered there is some slight rubbing, even with a lift. Trying to avoid any potential problems like that in order to keep the wife happy. It's been a balancing act and an uphill battle to her to allow me to put in a lift and add aftermarket wheels. Don't want to push my luck too far if I want to customize the truck. Lol!

ive got 305/45/22's and im sure i dropped a mpg or two. i towed a travel tailer one time, and other than the gas needle acting like the mph needle on a decel, i didnt even notice the tailer back there. the power in the 5.7 is just insane. if your willing to pay the price.
