    Default The Sequoia's end...

When will Toyota end the Sequoia? No rumors... does anyone have the facts. I will be buying one in 1.5 years. Will I be able to buy a new sequoia then?

From the rumors I've heard, this will be the last generation of Sequoia. The first generation lasted seven years while this one is now in its fourth year. I would imagine it will be around at least another two years. That being said, before I got mine I had been shopping for one for several years, each time just missing the production run for that year. Every time I visited a Toyota dealer, any Sequoias they had on the lot never lasted long. In the end, I finally had to factory order mine to get the trim/color I wanted. With that being said, I don't imagine Toyota will discontinue the Sequoia as long as it keeps selling out, provided of course their production numbers are high enough to make it worth while.

Not sure as to when they'll end production, but my local dealer told me that Toyota is expected to increase the invoice pricing of the Sequoias by $1,000 - $2,000 very soon. I don't think they'll make the same mistake as before, with over-producing them and having to "give" them away with $8,000 incentives. I'm guessing they learned their lesson....

and the problem there is two fold..sure they can sell out of them...and make more...but that hurts their CAFE fuel ratings and makes it harder for them to meet the stupid CAFE requirements they are going to be facing in a year or two....

I've heard that it will end with the next Tundra redesign, which makes sense.

The sales #'s in Canada are abysmal... There are only about 20 in all of Canada on Toyota lots right now... hard to find... yet they sit and sit. Probably because so many US imports are coming up here. Now that the US peso is so low, we can buy one and get one free in the states...

Strange. I've been trying to get a second generation Sequoia since they came out but could never find one that stayed on the lot long enough. They were flying off the lots and dealers couldn't keep them in stock. Every time we found one it was always the wrong colour or wrong trim level. Finally had to factory order a 2011.

from what I hear, the Sequoia is on its very last legs. Sales are really bad.

The key info to watch for is that Toyota does not make the Sequoia in the Texas plant with the Tundra/Tacoma. Toyota makes the Sequoia in the Indiana plant, they will kill it very soon.

We will see a return of lower end Land Cruisers to fill the Sequoia void, look for 4.6 models with cloth seats and all the safety features of star safety system.
