Just joined today--I bought a 06 SR5 (Phantom Gray Pearl) on Sat and my wife is going to pick it up on Monday. My wife has driven a 96 Limited 4Runner for the last 10 years so we decided to upgrade a little. We stuck with Toyota because of the good luck we have had with the 4Runner. The SR5 has leather heated seats, sunroof, towing pkg, Limited 17" wheels, spoiler, and some other stuff I can't remember. My wife is looking forward to a new dd.

Hello,
Just did this a few minutes ago, somewhere else. Going to take me awhile to figure this navigatin'. I'm a new member, going by Snottt. Found this sight by looking for forums that talked about Sequoia's. After I cruised the sight awhile, I could tell it was much more and joined on the spot. I hope in time I can be as helpful as this sight has already been to me.

Hello, i recently bought a 03 access cab from a buddy, step side champagne, tint, vent visors, husky mats and seat covers throughout. i bought a bigger tire for it, went with a 265/70R17 to fill it out a little. I bought this after having a bad experience with an 04 Rubicon which, needless to say was not "trail rated" the dealer bought it back from me.

Hello all. I am new to Toyota and currently own a 2005 Sequoia SR5 (nicely equipped) ! I've been through 4 cars in the past 5 years looking for the "right" vehicle and have been very pleased with this choice. The only thing I'd like to improve now is the gas mileage. I look forward to learning more about my Toyota and the experiences others have had.

Cheers!

2004 Sequoia Limited (Phantom Grey) checking in from the Big Island, HI. The SUV is my wife's but I do all the maintenance and with almost 30K on the odometer the only problem is the "klunk" noise that several other Sequoias have been having. Easily corrected though. Aloha to all, and look forward to maybe helping others or being helped myself.

Hi All -

I purchased a 2004 Black SR5 Sequoia 2 weeks ago and love it!! I researched edmunds prior to my purchase and felt confident in getting a Sequoia. I have driven my 1998 Red EB Expedition for 7 years. I bought it in 99. It was really good to me and I still have it as a 2nd vehicle. Anyway, the new Exp was so disappointing so I began looking into Sequoia. I just hate to shell out alot of money and decided on a preowned. I purchased mine from an individual. I paid $26,750 plus purchased her 100,000 mi/84 mth extendend warr. for $1000. I feel like a got a good deal. It had 21,000 miles, oak interior w/leather, moonroof & spoiler, rear spoiler, running boards, roof racks & 6 disc changer. It drives like a dream! The black looks gorgeous but is going to be a bit of a pain to keep looking that way. I work full time & have 3 DDs. My hubby works & is a full time student so I wouldn't dream of expecting him to keep my Sequoia clean. I always kept my Exp. clean myself. Anyway, I can't wait to take a trip w/my family! This site looks like it has some great folks and I know I'm really going to appreciate all of your wonderful expertise!

Jo -

Hi... just found this website... been looking all over the internet for a dedicated Sequoia website... seem this is the closest one and most informative...

Just bought an '06 Sequoia SR5... it's loaded with package. Aside from the sunroof and few cosmetic details, it's the equivalent of the Limited. Got a deal I couldn't refuse... Personally, the thing is big, super big for me... this thing occupied my two car garage. If it was any longer, I would have a problem fitting into the garage. By far, it's the best ride I have ever bought. Nice all overall...

Hey all,

Just joined up a couple of days ago and have been browsing through the threads.

I bought a used 2003 Sequoia SR5 with 22,700 miles on it about two weeks ago. It's the dark metalic gray upper with silver lower two tone paint. I think it was pretty much fully optioned with the exception of leather. Both front seats are powered, moon roof, dimming rear view mirror...

Last week I installed a set of 22" Eagle 026s with 285/35 BFGs on them. There's been no clearance problems at full turn and over bumps (still at stock height). Just by eye-balling it, the new wheel and tire combination looks only about a quarter inch taller than the stock set up (with wheels off the truck). I know a lot of people are against going with the big wheels and all but I've always been into customizing cars - From a beat up '83 Nissan 200SX in high school to a fully tricked out C4 Corvette a few years ago. My wife is making me take it easy with the Sequoia though since we just had our second child (a boy) on January 9, 2006. My Daughter just turned 2.

Other mods to the truck so far are a cat-back Flowmaster dual exhaust. I just ordered a spoiler and billet grill set off of ebay. I got the spoiler yesterday, but I haven't tried to install it yet. I'm still waiting on the billet grill set.

One problem I noticed when taking off the stock wheels was there seemed to be more wear on the inside of the tires (possibly too much negative camber). I took it to Sears for an alignment, but after checking it out, they said the steering rack bushings were bad and allowing too much movement to align the wheels. The shop manager said he owns a Tundra and it's a common problem with the Tundra and Sequoia. I'm taking it to Toyota on Wednesday to have them check it out since it's still under warranty. I took off the new wheels for now so I don't mess them up.
I'll let you know what happens.

Aloha,
ktdaddy (my daughter's name is Kristen, and my son's name is Treyton)

Default Hello All!

Hello All !
Glad to see a board supporting the Sequoia. It is great to see a forum dedicated to Sequoias. I look forward to getting great information here.

Just acquired a 2006 Phantom Gray Pearl Limited. Love the truck. All options No mods yet. Beautifull truck. No pictures yet.

A few dissaponitments in my new Sequoia. NO HIDS / NO Signal Mirrors / NO Rear View Camera / NO backup alert.
On a truck this size, these are a requirement. What is Toyota thinking?
Like to have: Ipod interface / Bluetooth

Also own a 1997 4Runner Limited
  • 2k Headlamps
  • 2k Grill
  • Husky Liners
1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX (AWD Turbo) 13.0 @ 105
Mods too extensive to go into. LOL

Hi...looking at getting a Sequoia to replace my 00' 4Runner. Great site and hopefully I'll find the answers to all my questions before I make a purchase.
