Default bought 2001 LTD 4x4 w/ 46K

Just recently traded a diesel Excursion for the Sequoia, man does that get you brownie points with the wife. Especially when she is the main driver and hauls the kids around. She was tired of dealing with the size, sound and smell of the Excursion.

Have already done some minor upgrades: bugshield, vent visors, sunroof wind deflector, husky liners front to rear, installed inverter with plugs in cargo and 2nd row, Myron&Davis 10.2" combo DVD/LCD unit, Xenon bulbs.

Couldn't be happier with the Sequoia, unless we had bought new.

Good morning Tim, congrats to you on getting the vehicle even though the spoils go to your wife and kids. Its a good piece of mind that they will be safe. Have you run the numbers on gas mileage? vs your old M1 Abrams Excursion.. Lets see some pictures of the new Toy. Actually, the day after we purchased the Sequoia, we drove from Georgia to Michigan to visit some relatives (didn't see any Sequoias the entire time we were in Michigan and got some stares from the die-hard "buy american" folks). The Sequoia averaged about 18 on the highway to and from, which is right about the same as the Excursion did on similar trips in the past. The diesel did fairly well for the size, but I had some mods on it to boost performace & mileage, which I will be looking into for the Sequoia. My wife really loves how it rides compared to the Excursion and unlike most other Sequoia owners we have discovered a lot more room on the road than we were used to.

I will get some pics up, once we get it cleaned from all the pollen we have here in Georgia (I would rather get pictures of the black than the yellow tinted paint).

I have already looked through the site pretty well and am quite impressed with the information found here. Keep it up.

well, the membership sale got me to sign up. i have a new 05 sequoia ltd, purchased in december. unlike many trucks i've had, i have no issues or even questions at this time, except one; which is why i signed up.

i have GOT to find a way to integrate my iPod with the Nav system. densionUSA (icelink) doesn't make a kit for toyota (i have one in my 04 accord, and it's awesome). ipod2car doesn't work with the nav system. they say it does, but i bought one, installed it with the required toyota cd changer adapter, and what ends up happening if you have rear seat dvd (aka a slave unit), the volume/signal from both iPod and DVD player are cut in half, and neither then gets loud enough. i called their techs and they confirmed that indeed, when you have a slave unit, it will not work properly. they refunded my money.

so, my stay here is aimed at finding what to me has become the holy grail of music.... seamless iPod integration into the toyota factory nav unit. i'm going to start searching, but help would always be much, much appreciated.

who knows...i may get addicted.
see you around.

Hello,

I bought a 2005 Sequoia about a month ago so that my wife and I would have more room. We have a 1 yr old and another baby on the way and we always seem to need more seats and lots of luggage space. Already in the past month, we have used it to capacity 3 times. We just love it!

We kept or VW Passat around for the gas mileage, but we love driving the Sequoia so much that we haven't been behaving!

I'm now looking for a good navigation system/stereo that supports Sirius.

Matt

My quick welcome...

Have not owned a Toyota since my 86 4x4 (first year IFS) pickup. Great truck.

Wife wanted a Sequoia, we picked her one up two weeks ago. It is a White / Taupe Limited 4x4.

We are very pleased so far, but still trying to get used to it. The FWD system is phenominal, very easy to use and seamless when it engages.

The backup Camera is neat, kinda fun to play with.

Other than that, here we are.

Couple items we are looking to do: rain gutters, hood wind deflector, sill protectors and maybe a small 8" sub to enhance the stock system.
