SequoiaGeneral discussion forum for the second generation 2008 and later Toyota Sequoia.
This is a discussion thread titled "2008 Sequoia", within the Sequoia forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
Keep in mind the overpriced Sequoia LIMITED starts at 43k, which has a pretty generous assortment of goods. A loaded SR5 is probably the better buy.

The only thing I am a little worried about is if the Sequoia gets priced right with the new Suburban then the problem will be that GM over prices them so they can offer big discount's and everyone thinks they are getting a good deal. But like with the new Tundra's they are priced like a chevy but there are not offering any big discounts. If toyota does that agian here with a loaded Sequoia we could be looking a 10 grand premium over a Suburban. If they could keep that under a 4k premium I will definantly go with the Toyota but 10k would make me have to take a look at the Chevy pretty close for a flaw thats worth 10 grand to me.

In order to stay with competition, the 3rd row seats, and probably the second row, will HAVE to fold flat. Question - do fold flat seats actually eat up more cargo room than do removable seats? It sure is a heck of alot more convenient, at least.
My '98 Suburban had fold flat 2nd row/3rd row removable. Nothing like having a 4'x8' FLAT surface to sleep/haul/etc. on!!
But, the d@mn thing required it's 3RD transmission at the 78k mi point, so we traded it (for $$ ) for our '07 Seq.
Chevy totally dorked (IMHO) the new '07's with the tumble 2nd row, and non-flat cargo area
Love the Sequoia, but miss the Suburban...would have kept it another 5-6 years if I could'a trusted it mechanically.
I'm still going to go with my original prediction that the Sequoia will return with slightly small changes for 2008 (but essentially identical), and then be completely redesigned as a 2009 model and be released in early 2008 as a 2009 model.

You and GM both are wishing the same thing!
Why the heck would Toyota do that? With sales of the 6 yr old design declining steadily? Toyota knows the need for the new Sequoia to boost sales and put the hurt to GM's Tahoe.

Tundra-G's info is about 99.9% accurate in most cases---I cant wait for this New model to come out as the wife would rather see me get a new Sequoia than the Tundra
Now can you tell us if it will come with Multi-Mode transfer case as in AWD function as a mode?
If you guys look closely in the picture from the rear, the Sequoia has lost its solid axle for an independent suspension setup. This means fold flat seating for everyone..
Im not pleased with this design cuz im more of a 4wheeler and prefer solid axles. Then again, i've only seen 3 Sequoias do any real 4wheelin.

Can anyone tell me when there will be factual information available on the 08 sequoia?
Also, is it possible that the 08 will be available later this year...or only for sure in 2008?

according to my source within Toyota he mentioned Feb 2008 but dates are subjective to change without notice.
