SequoiaGeneral discussion forum for the second generation 2008 and later Toyota Sequoia.
This is a discussion thread titled "2008 Sequoia", within the Sequoia forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
looks good - looks like it means alot more business than the current generation. hopefully they give it something like a locking rear.
ugh - looks like the Tundra's dash is gonna carry over to it?

Now can you tell us if it will come with a Multi-Mode transfer case as in AWD function as a mode? I believe thats a feature that alot of people like nowadays.
Ladies and Gents, I give you the All new 2008 Toyota Sequoia
I took what I could see from the Spy Shots, and added them to the Tundra, along with a rear that makes it look like an SUV

No way toyota is not going to streamline their engineering in a time when SUV sales are declining across the board..
look at the pics... thats your new 2008 sequoia
The 08 Land Cruiser will be exactly like the LX570. Finally, the LC has a feature that will really differentiate from the Sequoia - the standard 5.7/6A powertrain. However, an optioned Sequoia with that engine will still make the LC seem like a poor buy, unless the LC has a serious interior quality/feature advantage.
Nice photoshops - that looks like it'd qualify as a Long Wheel Base model for sure. I hope they have two wheelbases to compete with the new Suburban/Expedition EL.

Anybody notice the finger pull on the fuel lid!!! Looks like it won't lock.
What do ya'll think????
I'm assuming all cars are this way - at least in the case of BMW, those kind of fuel lids lock when the doors are locked.

Wow, everything I've read has the '08 being shown at the Chicago Auto show next Feb and being available around April. You've got an order sheet 8 months prior!
Can you give us a rundown on what is listed on the order sheet, options etc.
-SR5 models are 8-passenger, Limited are 7-passenger
-Limited c/w 10-speaker JBL sound system, platium c/w 12-speaker system + 9" DVD entertainment system.
-Limited c/w 10-way power heated seat, Platinum c/w 10-way plus power headrest height, ventilation fan, and memory. Platinum also has ventilated passenger seat.
-Limited and Platinum have power folding "split and stow" 3rd row
-Platinum c/w heated middle row seats
-Optitron gauges in Limited and Platinum
-Laser cruise on Platinum
-Power back door on Limited and Platinum
-Backup camera / nav on Platinum
-Rear sunshades on Limited and Platinum
-18" rims on SR5, 20" on Limited and Platinum
Rear suspension is independant double wishbone w/ coil springs on SR5... Limited and platinum are air-ride, with Platinum getting an adaptive variable system front and rear.
New colour 3Q7 Cassis Pearl... presumably some sort of red.
Limited tech pkg c/w 9" dvd system, memory, and power tilt
Redrock interior only available on Platinum models, and only on white, slate, black, or pyrite. Colour 0071 Arctic Frost Pearl is exclusive to Platinum.
5.7L engine is coded as "Y" rather than the "V" used in the Tundra... Probably a slightly different spec. Also, horsepower and torque figures are shown as TBD. I don't know if it will have more or less horsepower than the Tundra, but the way you can equip these things, they are clearly aiming at the Escalade and Navigator, so it would be cool if they went over the 400hp mark to compete. In that price range, maybe they'll do a higher compression motor that requires premium. I guess we'll see. I'm thinking a price tag of 80-90k + in Canada for Platinum.

Gonna be a sweet rig for sure.[/quote]
Do you think the platinum trim was created to fill the space of the rumored Lexus JX570?
Well if anything, the Platinum and the LX570 will overlap, though the LX will probably be on a different platform and even more sophisticated. I guess the Platinum gives Toyota dealers something to offer on the very very high end.
What's got me really curious is that "Y" engine code... I'm sure I'll have the answer soon.
