Default changing oi filter w/o changing oil

will this be ok after letting engine set awhile. isnt it the same amount of oil out of filter as if you changed it normally. last change i did not do the filter, but would like to know if i'm not lookin at a gusher....

The whole purpose of changing oil/filter is to get the dirt and moisture out of the motor.

That's why they put those high tech packages in oil today is to collect and suspend the dirt and keep it from collecting on bearing surfaces and inside walls of the motor block.

I would advise to change both at the same time on a 3/5K interval for dino oil and 7/8K interval for synthetic oil.

However, you will get maximum number of ideas on motor oil and oil change procedures.

Change both, your motor will thank you for it, and remember to change oil in the second most expensive drive train item on your van.

The transmission, its the most negelected item on my vans.
