probably the cabin air filter. try replacing it. that would be the cheapest and easiest fix. After buying one online I was advised in the Highlander forum that I could have bought a furnace filter at Lowes or Home Depot and cut it to shape and saved a lot of money. In that forum I received instructions on how to replace it, but I don't think I received an answer for my Sienna from this forum.

You smell mold because mold is present. To kill the mold, turn the ac off and run fresh air for about four minutes before u park. This will allow the pan to dry and dispose of the habitat for the mold that thrives in that dark, warm, and damp environment. An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure!
