need help replacing rear tail light assembly

the wife hit something and the tail light assembly is damabed. bulb is still in tack, but it's an eye sore. my initial investigation made me wonder how the heck that put it in there. i can't seem to figure out how it comes out. i'd hate to have to take the whole door apart so i hope that someone here can guide me thru this.

also, anyone have a 2005 sienna parts list?

Howdy all, I am having the same problem. I have a Sienna 2000 xle, and I see the small screw on the back of the tail light but it does not come out of its place. Anyone knows how to get that sienna tail light out without braking the cover

(i am talking the light that is on the rear door).. thanks

It would be better if you would have posted your reply. I just tried to replace the light bulb and the little plastic retainers in the front snapped off. What crappy engineering!!! What do I do now?

replaceing a burned out light on my 2000 sienna the one in the lift gate ----just ripped mine out as my dealer said to and pulled 3 bolts out of my lens and cracked the housing- manual @ antioch ca toyota does not know $#@& oh but after i called him back to let him know such he would be glad to order me a new one-- the handle and pull strap need to be removed handle bolts are under caps pop open from top remove strap cover by pushing up cover pry open plastic to release fasteners---------thanks----not fellow forum members for the not here untill now info------looking online for new one

I'm also having trouble replacing the rear tail light in the lift gate. If you can help me out with this, I'd be very thankful!

Try this PDF and use steps 1-5 to get the rear door panel off and access to the lights in the door.

Hi the above PDF file was extremely helpful in fixing my rear brake light. However the high mounted stop light cover just does not come out despite removing the 2 screws. I am scared to force it. All i want to do is replace the bulb. Is there any internal assembly holding on to this or what is the right approach to replace this bulb

I think the lens should just pop off for access to the bulb after the screws are removed. I'll have to look at one on MONDAY to be 100% sure.

I have the same problem. I could figure out how to replace the brake light at the lift gate. Would you email me those 5 pages pdf files please. Thank you in advance.
