SiennaGeneral discussion forum for the Toyota Sienna.
This is a discussion thread titled "code p1135", within the Sienna forum, part of the Cars & Vans Forums category.
Autozone pulled code p1135 on my Sienna 02, a Manufacturer Control: Fuel Air Metering Control, in their computers the part required is a <Mass Air Flow Sensor> . I read in other web sites that this is O2 sensor issue. I undrestand there is more than one sensor in the vehicle, any sugestion as to how can I make sure which sensor to replace?????
Thanks
Oscar

That code is specific to the Air-Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P1135 Trouble Area:
Open or short in A/F sensor (bank 1, sensor 1)
A/F sensor (bank 1, sensor 1) heater
ECM

I would recommend testing the heater circuit of bank 1/sensor1

Bank 1 is the bank closest to the firewall . Bank 1 denotes the bank with cylinder #1 in it. Sensor 1 is the first sensor in front of the CAT.
Attached is a document that may help you see which is which.

My 2002 van threw that code P1135, I added a can of seafoam and it went away, may be no relation and I am sure it will return.
I understand the all three sensors start going bad at about 100K still I guess if van is running good, worth keeping van and having sensors replaced.
I have sprayed sensor threads with penetrating oil, to insure the sensors unscrew. Have read that if sensors break off you have to replace exhaust manifold, do not know if this is true, but you would have to take it off to drill out sensor and retap threads. I do not want to pay for this if some pretreatment of penetration oil will help.
if any of you guys need any oem parts let me know, i can hook you up with a good discount. pm me with the part number you need and i will get back to you, you cna get part numbers from original part. try to limit the parts to small shippeable parts, as shipping can be a killer.
I would appreate any good info here so much. A guy im working on his car tripped a P1135. A local mechanic shop quoted him out a Oxygen sensor and the labor. I said i would do it. I changed the oxygen sensor on the exaust manifold and then erased the code with a scanner. It is still tripping the P1135 A/F sensor. So there is a problem with the heater wire on the oxgen sensor? Bad connection somwhere? Whats the next thing i need to do to fix this problem for him. Any help would be great i would reall appreate it. I and very mechanically inclined, but a bad speller and not good with the new electronics and could use some guidance from someone that knows what there doing or has been through this before. please help as soon as anyone has time to awnser!! car is a toyota camery 2001 or 2002 v6

scratch that, its a 4 cylinder. ive been reading non-stop for like 5 hours concerning this, there is still yet anyone that give a good awnser. The a/r sensor has been changed. the sensor was located on the front of the car(front of the engine). so i know i go the right one. there is only one. The only thing else i can think is thatits this EFI relay people are talking about it, ill try to find it tommarow and test it to see if it opens and closes on 12 volt, at least i hope its 12v dc cause if i read the scematic right there is a fuseable link inside it that prolly can be reset or maybe it can. please anyone i would appreate the help. Ive been reading about people doing full tune ups and seafoam and spending all this money. i cant tell this guy that and then it still not work.im sure i got the right part. so please anyone with the correct awnser that solves this will recieve 20$ paypal. and im a honest person so if your solution is the right one and it works ill send that person $20 for there info.

i dont have a solution but i know where you can get a lot of info specifically for this car you can subscribe but its kind of pricy $10 day, or $50 month, i have been to this site a few times before and has helped me a lot, has a list of all codes and hw to troubleshoot, and any related tsbs pertaining to this car. so it hink$1- is a good investment. here is the link
