Re: 2004 Sienna FWD tire wear
Just thought I'd join the forum and throw my 2 cents in on this topic.
I have an 04 Sienna XLE Limited (not AWD) that burned through it's first set of tires at 28k. I was a little surprised to see them die quickly, as I don't really drive the van much (wifey drives it most of the time, and she's not a very aggressive driver). Nonetheless, tires are a consumable so I went ahead and replaced them with some Goodyear Assurance ComforTreds. The van is at about 57k miles now and these things are BALD. Rotation happened every 7.5k or so and inflation was kept around 35psi or so. That's an 80k tire dead in 29k.
The irony is that I'm getting the same mileage out of my GSD3s that I keep on my 350z. I get 25k out of those and I drive it like I stole it.
I've had the van aligned 3 times (the most recent just about 6 months ago) but I can hardly blame Toyota for that (hubby points at curb rash on rims and looks scathingly at wifey).
I've been doing a lot of searching on why these monsters eat tires so often and really can't come up with much other than Sienna owners like to buy tires about every 30k. Maybe the van is just too heavy for the size of tires it wears?
I'm thinking I'll go try some Michelin HydroEdge's as living on the Eastside of Seattle everythings wet all the time.
