Hi everybody,
I have 2001 sienna, Last week I got same codes P0440, P0441 & P0446
I found TSB released by Toyota but i could not locate "Canister Closed Valve VSV".
Does anybody has picture?
Do i need to take any special care while I remove the item?

our 01 sienna is throwing 0446 also, does the TSB show locations
of these components?
this vehicle is just over 100k miles, recently purchased, and
would like to resolve this before winter weather hits.
(mil turns off vsc, right?)

If ther is a TSB, that means Toyota ha recognized an issue. I have attached the 2 TSB's that relate to your issue. I would try them first as they are the cheapest to do by yourself. If they do not fix it then, replacing the charcoal canister assembly would be the next step. I do not have any scan tool data so this is just an educated guess. We do alot of the VSV's, they stick and are intermitant when they stick.

Does anybody know when and how long ECM takes to test all component.
To remove code after replacing the VSV, I had removed the battery. That of course reset all flags, but after driving 150 miles still the flags are not set to "Ready" state.

There is a 45 page document that tells ho wot do "DRIVE PATTERNS"
Each specific mniter requiers a specific drive pattern. They are a pain in the A$$.

One of the mechanic inform me that VSV near the Charcoal canister goes bad.
Is it difficult to replace in sienna?
I see that it is behind the spare tire and has guard cover with 6 screw.
If i remove it, will it cause any problem to fuel line?
Part cost $46 only so I want to try that before going for $600 repair.

Wont hurt the fuel line.
I have never changed a VSV near the canister in a 2000 Sienna.
What code do you have?.
Definatley do the least $$ repair first.

Finally I decided to go the dealer, since local shops wanted to charge me $100 for Diag. and $100 for smoke test and then replace cost of the part +labor $90/hr which was nearly same as dealers were offering with free Diag.
Dealer replaced Charcoal Canister (costed me $580). I don't have garage to put my car on jack and work under hood, also i had to go though inspection before end of this month.
