Default Local 2002 Sienna LE w/102K for $9988... good deal?

I am really wanting a Tundra, but I found a really nice 2002 Sienna at one of our local Toyota dealerships for $9988. It has 102K, but it is like new, save for a scratch on the front fender. It is silver blue, w/same color interior. Looks to be very high optioned, including alloy wheels. According to value guides, this is a good deal, but you cannot always go by those.... does this seem good?

Are their any major well-known problems with the 2002 Sienna? Thanks!

KBB priced out @ $12,400 for a 2002 LE with all the std options, 102,000 miles and Excellent condition. Trade in value is listed as $7325 in good condition. I'd say the dealer got a good deal on the trade in and is looking to move it fast or is hiding something. $9988 is a good price.

the options are key here. Exactly what are they?

It's the options that determine the value.

i.e. sunroof, premium radio, leather, value package, Factory security system(not aftermarket), Alloy wheels (no wheel covers) Tow prep package. Several thousand dollars difference can be apparent plus or minus depending.

You see, You can really be specific about the resale value of these options. A base Sienna LE might appear to be a deal at he price yu see, but dealers weigh every single option when taking in a trade. And they rarely explain this on the sale of that same vehicle when they go to sell it.

They tend to take the trade on base value and then try to bump it up as if it was Loaded when they sell it.

The salesman will tell yu "IT'S Loaded alright". But it really isn't!
It's up to yu. Research the exact option codes for that exact Sienna when it was purchased new. The Dealer has this info. Some won't show yu that info. But this info is translated by the VIN for that specific Sienna.

Thanks. I passed on this van and bought a Tundra instead. However- more about the van.....

Yeah, it was nicely optioned, but it was not loaded to the max. It did not have sunroof or leather. Not sure about security, but it did have - A/C (dual) captains chairs, luggage rack, tinted windows, alloy wheels, as well as the side airbags option.

Thanks again!
