Default 2006 -Annoying headlights

I have a 2006 Sienna LE, and a 2005 Tundra DC. I love the headlight functionality in my Tundra, they're always 'on', and when I shut the truck off and open the door, they automatically shut off.

Anyone know of a way to 'hack' the Sienna to do the same? I'm guessing I would have to find either a module or build an elaborate set of relays/circuit breakers to accomplish the same thing, but if anyone knows of a 'drop in' solution, that would be preferable. Maybe the XLE has this functionality?

I know it isn't just me, because it drives my wife nuts as well. That, and the goofy lightbulb indicator on the dash whenever the headlights are on...

It's odd these vehicles come from the same manufacturer but are so different!

I also have the same two vehicles, and would be interested if you get a solution. If you ever want to run with your headlights out (approaching a guard gate where you don't want to blind the person.) The only way I have figured it out is to put the parking break on one click, go to nutral, shut off the engine and turn it back on again. Just an aside. Not sure when you would want to go to the effort..

By the way. Do you know what the space in the front of the console near the floor is? it has an oval blank, and a place for two switches to the right of it.

Great minds think alike. I have the exact same two vehicles also. Your question about why the two vehicles are so different concerning the headlight function is a question I have pondered myself. The way the Tundra's headlights work are a great idea. Seems like it should be applied to more of the Toyota lineup. Sorry, no solution to your question.

My 2006 Sienna LE, does not have automatic headlights, but, if you leave them on, they will turn off when you lock the doors with the remote.

Try pressing the door lock button on your remote twice...

That should turn all lights off.

That's the way the wife's 08 works if in the auto mode hit lock twice they turn off instantly.
