Default 2006 Sienna LE Driver Door Seal

We leased our Sienna in January of this year and have had a problem with the driver door seal since it was new. I rarely drive it and noticed it while on the highway a few weeks into owning it.

It seems like there is not a good seal on the driver's door. The problem is noticeable but tolerable at highway speeds, but is bad when on the highway and it is windy.

On the first trip to the dealer (MyToyota/Muskegon, MI), they said they adjusted it. I got on the highway and then turned around immediately because the noise was the same. The mechanic checked it again and I showed him that you could see outside light from the inside with the door shut. The mechanic said that just because there was light doesn't mean there isn't a good seal; it doesn't have to press hard to make a good seal. That's ok with me as long as I don't get the noise, but it is still there.

Today was another windy drive on the highway and it is still loud on the driver side only.

Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas on how to pursue the problem further? It's a 40 mile drive to my dealer so doing battle by continually bringing the van in for service isn't an option.

Thanks in advance!

Laze

I could tell you , but do you really wanna know? Every worked in body work where you had to fit something? You gonna have to bend the door frame inward towards the pillar. Not real hard but pretty damn scarey if the owner is watching. Theres an art to it, place something low in the door , like a rubber mallet. Place the mallet low like on the rocker panel, grasp the door at the top and shove the door toward the hammer, it will bend the door frame a little. If unsure better left to a proper mechanic or body shop.
