door lock actuator 2004

The power door lock has quit working on my 2004 Sienna. I took it to my mechanic and he told me the door lock actuator is shot and it costs $350-$400 to repair. Part is $150 and labor is high because it is a very tedious job. Anybody ever done this before? I'm game to try it myself to save a couple of hundered $ if someone can give advice?

which door? front or rear. tedious my butt its pretty easy, of course work on siennas for a living.

It is the drivers door.

Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

Thats hwy robbery
$150 part a bit high, but we only get 1.0 hr labor to replace that actuator = $98 or so

150 + 98 (approx) = 250-275 max

I have attached a PDF to help you.
You only need steps 1-6 & 13-15

DO NOT REMOVE WINDOW OR WINDOW MOTOR, ity is not necessary. Just roll it up after you have the door panel off.

I ended up paying almost $300 for part. Installation was easy with your instructions. Thanks alot for the help!

Mine happened on the driver rear slider. Can I get the same info on how to fix it. it does not lock automatically with the remote you have to do it manually. It is also a 2004 Sienna XLE

I also have trouble with the rear driver side sliding door lock. I have a Sienna LE 2003. I was told it would cost me $743.92+tax for parts and labour. Any thoughts?

We have the same problem on our '04 Sienna. The slider behind the driver won't lock or unlock with the other doors. Can you help?

My mother has an 04 Avalon and both front doors will not unlock with the remote. The dealer wants over 600.00 to fix it. I found the parts at Toyota of Dallas for 71.24 each. But I need the pdf file which shows how to remove/replace the part. Can you tell me where that pdf file is?

There is no pdf file on how to replace those actuators, only a file that shows how to dis -assmble the door. After that you have to remove the latch on the inside of the door. The actuator screws to the back side of the latch.
