This is a great resource! I posted an engine DTC question here and am deleting that and reposting under engine/drivetrain. The Toyotas seem to have more intermodel commonality than any other make I've ever worked on (that's not many: Chevy, Olds, Opel, VW, Mazda).

This is my first post. This website has been most helpful and I look forward to using it in solving my problems and maybe I can be of assistance to others as well.

Hi all
I have an '03 Sienna. Just had the P0420 (Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)) check engine light message come on. The dealer said it's covered if somethings's wrong with the Cat. Converter, but not covered if it turns out to the 0xygen Sensor. They're charging me $50 for diagnostic. 6 months ago I got a CEL message re: emissions and had to spend $500 to replace the carbon canister, etc. Are these related? Are there issues with the Sienna.
Also, I have 3 power plugs and the fuses keep blowing out on 2 even though I rarely use them. Any ideas?
Hi, I bought an 06 Sienna in November 06. The vehicle drives great, and I'm looking forward to good reliability, but I have to say the mileage so far has been pretty lousy (13.5 in city driving) and rear visibility is worse than I expected (although to be fair, I'm switching from a Civic!).
I've already learned some valuable stuff from the forums, looking forward to more.

Hello to all,
I look foward to learning some new things! Have a 2000 Sienna with six disc changer. There are six discs in the player. Try to eject, or play, or change discs, and "ERR" shows in the display. I'm wondering if anyone might have a solution?
Hi, I am a new member and own a 2005 Toyota Sienna Braun RampVan, which is a handicapped conversion van. Have had it around two months. I have been watching in the background and enjoy the information. It is an XLE Limited. The conversion is a rear entry and because my garage is only a small one car thing and my driveway is too steep, I had to pull up a portion of my front lawn up and pour concrete to get my wheelchair in and out. I love the Sienna and am getting adjusted to everything. Lois

Hello all, Just joined the group last night. I have a 2001 Sienna LE for three years now and have had no major problems and enjoy the smooth ride. I did develop one problem this past Wednesday morning that maybe someone could advise on: the previous evening, I parked it on a slight slope, facing downward and the next morning apparently the auto choke didn't "catch" or something so it didn't start immediately. I depressed the accelerator pedal and tried again and it started but the auto choke didn't activate so I had to keep the gas pedal depressed when stopping to keep the idle rpm up to not stall. This happened once before but cured itself after driving to work. This time it didn't clear up and I have to keep the gas pedal down slightly when stopping so it won't stall, for three days now. While surfing the net, I found that possibly it might be the "idle air control valve" sticking and can be cleaned, even without removing it. I am no real mechanic but if it were easy clean (if this is the problem) it would "save a trip" to the shop and not lose a day's work. Any suggestions? And it's good to be a part of the discussion group!

Hi everybody - Daniel Meyer from Muncie, IN. I just bought a 2004 Sienna LE in North Carolina and brought it back to Indiana. It has a couple of foibles that I'll look forward to asking the group about.

This is my first post. It serves to introduce myself to the forum.
I am the new owner of a (hopefully gently) used one owner 2004 Sienna LE AWD just purchased August 16, 2007. Yes, I joined the forum before I even paid for my Toyota and drove it home.
I think there are far too many "this is changeable, see your Toyota Dealer" messages in the inch thick owners manual for my liking. This forum seems to have some pretty knowledgeable people that have already answered some of these questions that should have been covered in the manual.
I'm thinking a lot of these "see your dealer" questions are going to be answered here. I found some interesting posts here before I even bought my vehicle. I look forward to seeing more

Hi, Just registered after many visits to the forum previously. I've been reading about chip keys or smart keys and I have some questions. I have one of these keys for my 2004 Sienna (only one and it's a long story). In Winnipeg it seems only the dealer can supply and program a new key at great expense I am told. However I see mention in the forums of being able to buy a key either from the dealer or an internet source, getting it cut and then programming it yourself. Is this true and where do I find this procedure for my specific vehicle? Neil
