Question 2006 Sienna DVD with nav

I have a 2006 Sienna with factory DVD & nav system. When the Sienna is in park and the emergency brake is on, the DVD player plays on the navigation screen on the dash and in the rear DVd player at the same time. As soon as you release the e-brake, the DVD quits playing on the nav screen. I am looking to be able to have the DVD play on the nav screen so the front passenger can also watch the DVD while traveling. Any suggestions?

Interrupt #1 & #5 with a toggle switch. They can be found on the left hand side of the passenger glove box removed.
1 red/white stripe = parking brake
3 violet/white stripe = Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)
5 red/black stripe = reverse/neutral

When you say interrupt #1 & #5 is that placing one switch which would connect one side with RED and the other White and the black stripe?

You also have listed #3. Whatdo you do with that one

I'm also very interested in doing this as well and would love some additional info. My 08 Sienna Limited does not have the power headlight/HID package - so I have that one knockout available under and do the left of the steering wheel. I wonder if an OEM Toyota switch would work in that location if I were to dive into the wiring.

Why are interrupting the reverse signal? And what year vehicle are you doing this on? I have attempted this on a 2006 Sienna by grounding the parking brake to a switch and cutting the VSS wire in the back of the nav unit. I still can not get vid on the front screen while moving though.

Hi,

We are the preferred dealer here and have a solution to bypass the navigation and DVD. Our module is 100% plug and play and installation is very easy. You can learn more about us at the Sienna thread or the Group Buy thread here:

Navigation/Video Override - No more Lockouts!
