Default Sienna Tail Light Replacement

I just went to replace my left rear tail light on my 2000 Sienna. As the owner's manual says, I removed the two screws, and pivoted the light assembly around to the left, and SNAP went the two little plastic pins on the front of the assembly. The unit is now stuck back in place with a piece of velcro. Is this going to happen to the right side too? Do I need to replace the whole part to fix it properly? Is there another way to remove this thing properly?

Assuming you're talking about the tailight on the body and not the door...
I just had to replace my tail light for a 2002 sienna, left side on body...wifey accidentally backed into a brick house...lol yes a house...

anyways..what i did was unscrewed the two bolts then used a flat head screwdriver and carefully pried the left side where the two pins are located away from the body...once those popped out then the brake light came off pretty easy...

Then unhooked the wires from the little harness things and twisted the bulbs and they came right out...reverse the steps and put a new one on...

toughest part was putting it back on...i was afraid i was going to snap the pins but i basically lined up the bolt holes and carefully pressed the entire light housing to the body of the car and saw the pins almost line up then a little tap and it snapped in place. last step was put bolts back in.

I noticed on the broken light i took off, the pins actually unscrew and come off pretty easy. maybe this is for replacing them...
