Default Drove without any oil

Hi every one! I am new to this forum.

I went for scheduled oil change to my dealer
And the drained oil from my Sienna and forgot put fresh oil in to the engine.
After they park the car in front and said that car is ready.
I start the car and right the way I new some thing is wrong.
Engine sound different low oil lamp was on.
Dealer guy tall me that is ok no problem they jest going to add oil nothing happened
They did in even want to put any information in the service record.
For me this is serious stuff. Dealer can even change the oil. I am ready to blow this information all the way to the top of Toyota in Japan.
But before can any one tall me could it be a serious damage to the engine after probably 2 minutes drive without oil or am I only over reacting
Who should I contact if I want complain in this matter. I already talk with dealer.
For them nothing happened.
I am living in Canada.

You never know how long the oil change guy left it running! There is no way to know if you will have a problem later. Only time will tell. Put it in writting and ask the dealership to admit in writting what they did. I would try to get a 100,000 mile warranty out of them. There is no use in you assuming the risk. They should take responsibility.

Two minutes without ANY oil has very likely caused abrasive scoring damage that can be seen on the camshaft lobes, camshaft gear teeth and other engine parts where there is metal to metal contact.

I've seen considerable scoring damage on a 1986 Corolla 4ALC motor from running just 30 seconds with any oil. However, in this particular case the engine continued running around 125,000 miles despite the damage.

Better have it documented in writing and call Toyota HDQ and let them know ASAP. Record the names, numbers and times you spoke and any reference numbers.

I would get something in writing from them. It shouldn't cause any long term problems, I've seen cars run over 10 minutes without oil and they were fine.

.

If you previous had used Synthetic Oil .. you are in better shape than regular oil.

Bottom line is .. "some" damage was done ... that is why you have oil in the engine.

However .. is the damage super small and basically no problem ..

OR

Did it score something to the point where you are on the road to a fracture crack ???

Get the problem in writing ... but, the statute of limitations on time may run out BEFORE you have a problems too.

This is exactly why I do NOT trust anyone to change my oil.

SOS
