Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=43.671519,-79.702828&spn=0.011035,0.019956&t=h&z=16&om=1) go to the end of westcreek blvd and you'll see the trails from there. Just an urban place to get muddy nothing too spectacular.

Is it very difficult to get through?

Would I just need 4x4 or do I need mud tires?

I tried yesterday and didnt make it all the way through, I was with my girl and I have a broken leg so I wasnt about to push it. My truck is stock and had no problems I just got worried about a rutted out section, but with another truck there I wouldnt hesitate to get into the mud.

I'd be up for a little off-road fun, nothing too hard core.

I have a buddy who lives in Burlington, he has a Jeep TJ. Lifted, big tires. I'm sure he'd like to show you how great a Jeep is. lol

Ok where do you guys offroad?

Have you seen the trails book for sale at Canadian Tire?

It lists a lot of trails I didn't even know existed.

With an ATV I've gone through a few of the Simcoe Forest areas.

I'd really like to find a place with sand. I'm sure it would be a real pain if I got stuck, but it looks like fun.

I had never even heard of a trails book, I'll definatelly pick that up. Sand is fun, the only place i've been with sand is up hwy 11 N, past washago/severn bridge, just before gravenhurst. It's an old quarry i think, we were just driving by and saw it, there was nothing blocking it so we went in. Other than that I've driven on the beaches in North Carolina, that place is awesome. I wont do anything hardcore in my truck, it's my daily driver.

I think its crown land.

Mine is a daily driver too, and I really have no interest in fixing something I break off-road, so I usually take it easy.

I'm familiar the area past Washago, do I pass the Muskoka store where the highway turns to the right?

Ok. I know where that is, my buddy has a cottage on Sparrow Lake. I'll have to check it out.

I've driven in sand just north east of Newmarket, I'm not sure if I could find it again, I'll check with my buddy.

I've also driven in other sand pits and when I was in Daytona I rented a Jeep and drove on it daily. Great fun, nothing gets broken.

OK we were just up there on Black river rd and it was great we had 2 tacos a ranger and a polaris sportsman 500. Made it in till the rocks, no one had the balls to try that part. The trails we're nice and dry, I didnt even put it in 4x4, I'll try to get some pics off my brother.

So it was fun but not challenging?

I was seriously considering going to that sand pit up past Orillia. I was going to go tomorrow, but now I'm doing other things, but I'm sure I'll hit it some time in the next month or so.

It wasnt too challenging, hell two cavaliers made it down, bottoming out along the way! There's some neat places back in there, might try fishing and camping in there some time this summer. I was out in Sparrow lake on sat, wakeboarding and fishing, I keep my boat at lauderdale point marina, but I cant afford a cottage there, $$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!

I hear you. My friend's grand parents used to own it, his father and aunt inherited it, and he bought his aunt's half.

I've been going up there for about 13 years. There used to be some good deals up there but now its turning into mega cottages. North of bala is worse, 8000 square foot cottages!

So we where up near washago again. That black river road trail is awesome and we found an awesome sandy beach, lots of campers out there too. Wish I had an ATV to really explore the area. Anybody who wants an easy offroad trip to some really nice campsites check out this place.

I visited those trails near Gravenhurst today.

I'm not sure if you noticed the "No Tresspassing" sign. One entrance had a chain and the sign, the other didn't have anything, so I entered there.

It definitely looks like a good place for a dirtbike or an ATV, not really that great for a truck.

If anyone's out around the Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough County, Northumberland, or northern Durham and wants to do some off-roading gimme a shout. I've got dedicated mud tires on the truck, so I'd be able to give anyone with a/t's a tug out if they needed it.

I am new to the site and I am looking for a place to go off roading in Washago? (Orillia)
Can you give me a road/address that I can GPS. Some of you said Black River is that in Washago? I am going up there this weekend.
Thanks for your time.
