sup guys? the engine check light code is p0135; heater circuit malfunction (bank 1 sensor 1). i think ,but not sure that the sensor closest to the driver side is the one thats broken. i just received an o2 sensor from my uncle and wondered if you guys could help me save some money and show me how to install it. i know where the o2 sensor located at (on the exhaust system) but, unsure of which sensor is the one thats broken.

Here are the steps i think are right for a proper installation of the o2 sensor:
1. wait till the truck cools down
2. unplug the sensor first then unscrew the bolts
3. after installing the sensor, reset the EFI by taking the fuse out and waiting for a few minutes before placing the fuse back
4. start the truck and cross my fingers. :o

Thanks for the feed back!

You may be able to find a guide online. Me personally, I went and bought the Repair manual from an autoparts store. It tells you everything you need to know. One thing you need is a special socket for the o2 sensor. You cant use a standard one. The special socket has a cutout on the side.

If you have the V8, it is the front sensor on the drivers side. If you have the 6, it is on the passenger side. Do a search and you can find a pdf file showing the locations. Good luck.

The cutaway socket is not required for Toyota O2 sensors. The Toyota style O2's are a flange mount that use an oval gasket and 2 - 6mm bolts, much easier to change and needs only a 10mm socket or box end wrench.:)

SDx1904 your uncle may have given you the wrong sensor. #1 sensors (either bank) thread into the exhaust manifold,it's not the dual-stud flange style (at least on the V8's,unsure about the V6 engines)
