Does anyone know if a 305/70 17 on 17x8.5 rims with -6 backspacing will clear the upper control arm? I have a 2.5" level installed up front. I currently have the FJ rims with 285/70's and have barely 1/2" clearance to the upper control arm. In fact on full lock turning they rub slightly.

This is my first post so thanks for any replies.

Hey man I'm new here too...hopefully this will help you out. I know it's not answering your question directly, but maybe it will help so I'll let ya know...

I wanted 285/75/16 or 305/70/16, which are the same height, but obviously wider.

In order to get them to fit I had to do the spacer lift up front....but in order to get a wider tire I needed a wider rim.

So I found the ones I wanted and talked to Discount Tire, they said if I get these Moto Metal 17x9 rims with -12 backspacing that I could use those tires in 17's

Hopefully that helps, I guess the key with 305 width, is the -12 backspacing

I used to be on a Impala board and always hated the "does this fit with this" questions.

Well decided to go with the Moto 951's 17x9 with -12 backspacing. I'll post if it works with the 305/70's.

Cool, that's what I ended up getting in black....let me know how it fits...that's exactly what I wanted for tire size

What tires are you going with?

I was gonna get some BF Goodrich AT KOs

I purchased some Goodyear MT's from Craigslist for $200 with at least 70% tread! I hope they work out they had great reviews from Tirerack. Anyone have the Goodyear MT's? How do they ride are they noisy, wet weather?

Thanks
