guys, i hope you can help. have an 04 DC with the 4.7. has about 70,000 miles on her. when i shut the motor off, it pops and pings like crazy. i'm assuming it's the hot metal in engine block cooling off. it seem's like it's worse now, but it's also cold as hell right now. i've only had the truck for about 5000 miles. bought it certified, from a dealer, so it has a pretty good warranty still left. someone told me it was the fact that toyota uses lighter metal in their blocks and they don't deal with the high heat as well as a domestic truck. i usually wouldn't listen to him because i love my toyota and he hates toyota and only drives a ford. i've had an expedition before and to be honest, it didn't pop and ping like this. i love my truck and want to take care of her, so somebody shed some light on this, please!!!
