I take delivery next week on my new 2008 Tundra. I plan to change out the stock wheels and tires. I have narrowed my tire choices to the BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A K/O and the Toyo Open Country A/T. I have seen many tires in my area and online of the BF Goodrich but have had a hard time finding the Toyo tire. I was hoping somebody has the Toyo Open Country A/T in 275/65/18 and also what kind of price they paid. If you have the tire could you please post pics?

Toyo will be a lot cheaper than BFG. Too bad you don't have a Discount Tire near you. Anyone can get any tire you want; just shop around.

Do either of you have complaints about your BF's? I have heard complaints about road noise, being heavy, having a loss of MPG's. This has been my drawback with the BFG's. As far as cost, I am looking at 17.00 more per tire than the TOYO. I am still hoping one of the members have pictures of the TOYO Open Country A/T in that perticular size so that I can see what it looks like. Thanks for your posts.

BFG KO's are awesome and handle the pavement and dirt very well. In mud they arent too good (no A/T tire is good in mud Check out the off roading board)
The KO's are MUCH MUCH heavier then the Rugged trails that come on the TRD's.
Any 10 ply(E rated) tire is going to be very very heavy. But then again they are very durable strong tires that have a strong sidewall as well.

I dont know much about Toyo's but i would pay another 100 bucks for the BFG KO's. They seem to be the most popular for a reason.

I have the Toyo 285s on my CM and IMO they are the best tires made or at least for the price. Paid right around $240

I just bought a brand new set of Nitto 285/65/18 Terra Grapplers on craigslist for $500 for 4. I've allways run BF's on my truck before but I have heard good things about the Nitto's. put some miles on them. I like the look of them and will let you know any other opinions later after I've put some miles on them. I'll post some pictures later.
